Why exactly would we want him again?

i thought you were my brother in arms in terms of defending his game? i think Ibra's fantastic. That's why we'd want him.

cheers

I do rate him, but I thought the quote was from someone who represented the player or Barca, missed it was Stoichkov, but thank god the Mamelodi Sundowns(had to look that up) manager has an opinion on a player that literally has FUCK ALL to do with him.

We've upped our offer

From IMScouting:

According to the Spanish Sport, Barcelona are demanding 35 million euros for the Ivory Coast international, which the newspaper speculates woud be a good starting point for negotiations. Sport says Manchester City would submit a counter offer of around 30 million.

The paper says that Manchester City have already reached an agreement in principle with the player through his agent, Dmitri Selçuk. The deal would reportedly make Toure one of the highest paid players at Eastlands, alongside Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor.

The fact that Toure's brother Kolo already plays for City is also believed to be a factor in the Barcelona holding midfielder's decision to play for the club.

On Tuesday, Selçuk was quoted as saying that Toure could join Arsenal as part of the deal to bring Cesc Fabregas to the Nou Camp, but Manchester City appear to have beaten the Gunners to the signing.

Toure is out of contract at Barcelona at the end of the 2011/2012 season

If we sign Toure I hope we do it only under the condition that he gets a new agent!

Can't help thinking that by taking Toure at this price, we're helping Barca out with the funding for Fabregas which is fine as long as we also get a bit of goodwill from them for future dealings

He'll never hack it in the Prem. I expect him to make an appearance here before he retires though- at a newly promoted club, for a final paycheque which will lead to them doing a Bradford/Hull.

If he signs for us, I reckon he'll bag 7 next season in all domestic competitions. And be the best-payed Premiership player (especially considering the wage hike needed to counteract Spain's tax 'Beckham Law' loophole).

Man City facing frustration with summer market bids

Manchester City refuse to be held to ransom over their transfer plans.

The Daily Mail says City have little interest in Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and although they have held talks over signing Yaya Toure, he is more likely to be used as a makeweight in Cesc Fabregas’ return to the Nou Camp from Arsenal.

City have also been deterred by Toure’s personal demands and Barca’s £29m valuation, refusing to be held to ransom despite owner Sheikh Mansour’s vast wealth.

A similar message has been sent out to Benfica, who have valued defender David Luiz at £36m, and Wolfsburg, who are demanding £35m for striker Edin Dzeko, with City warning they are prepared to walk away from negotiations.

Club sources denied reports yesterday of an unsuccessful £31.5m offer for Luiz, with the only firm offer being for James Milner.

Walk away and leave them with unhappy players.

No shortage of takers for players like this. They will accept lesser wages from likes of Rags, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Milan teams etc.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Chelsea aside which of them has REAL money to pay for these players PLUS wages. If our price for Dzeko is £35m is everybody elses, plus chelsea can`t buy ALL of them. They will get the message. It might seem painful now short term but we can`t be bumfucked like abramovich was.

All the titles and cup wins would indicate that Abramovich was in fact not bum fucked.
