He has to play regular football this season & unless he has a brilliant pre-season, that won't be with us. This is a make or break season for Weiss & it would be totally unfair to make him spend it sat on the bench; that could finish him as a top player, he needs to develop right now.

A loan deal is an absolute essential imo unless he forces his way into the team immediately. For all his talent I think he lacks the personality to impose himself on a game. He has to get that very quickly or he'll fade into obscurity. He can't get it by sitting on the bench. I think he should consider a season in the Championship just to make sure he gets games. Worked for Giovanni.

Silva has played behind striker(s) as well so he is capable of doing it if needs be. However, personally what I've seen, I think his best position is on the left wing. Also, defensive midfielders in England would eat him alive (think Deco).
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Me not thinks yaya is coming, why did we sign Vieira up for another year then? Barry, De Joung doing the same job aswel.
Get in some attacking playmaker asap.

no way is Toure playmaker. Sure he can pass and shoot but he is not attacking player by any means.

I agree we still need a proper creative, attacking midfielder.

If the Toure deal is done, and it appears to be very close, will Bobby play him and Barry in a 4 with two wide men or as part of a three with a playmaker in front of them and one forward. I can't see how he can get Barry, Toure and a playmaker in to the side without going one up top. I also don't see Tevez playing the lone front man role if he does go with one up front.

Maybe this :

---------Toure-----Barry
-----------A.N. Other
Tevez------------------AJ/Bellars
--------Ade/A.N.Other

Not a massive fan of Carlos on the right. I do like the system, though. If Bobby is to accomodate Toure, Barry and a playmaker then I can't see another option.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

I believe it's possible he may go with three defensive(ish) midfielders and ask both full backs to exploit the wide areas.

Absolutely horrendous tactics if he goes for that. I have never seen one team do consitently well with that system. Giving up central attacking area of the pitch means you never dominate the games. IF, and I don't think he will but if, Mancini goes for that system, even I will start having doubts about him. That's the kind of plan Hughes had for us and got him the sack.

Regarding Cityger's 4-5-1 (or 4-2-3-1 if you will), I have always been a big fan. Problem is, in that system the centerforward position is essential. If that's what Mancini has in mind then I would actually understand Ibrahimovic despite his clear character flaws. Alongside Drogba, one of the best players on that system as he is bit of "do it all". Tevez isn't enough of aerial presence for that system. Another option would be Edin Dzeko.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Ah, have just mentioned the 4-2-3-1 or similar type thing in another thread. You can play many variations of that & easily switch it into different formations. Btw one Italian media outlet recons Dzeko has accepted a deal from City but I recon we'll be after Torres & players like him will only be back up plans.

Just seen in the M.U.E.N. they're claiming that sources in the Spanish camp say the English based Spanish players (Torres etc) have told David Silva that City are the next big thing & that he's now interested in coming to City. At the same time, there are rumours that Gerrard is too expensive for Mourinho & Gerrard is telling the world how good it is to play with Gareth Barry..

I think I'll indulge myself in putting 2+2 together & making 5 for a while (until they all sign for someone else).

The idea of Torres saying "El City, muy bien" while MEN "source" is sitting behind the bushes trying to hear what they say, makes me giggle. Like a little girl.

Dzeko deal back on?

http://calciomercato.datasport.it/notiz ... city.shtml

Exclusive: Dzeko says yes to Manchester City
The Bosnian striker accepts the offer of the English club: multiyear contract to 4.2 million per season
Bad news for Juventus. Edin Dzeko has accepted the proposal of Manchester City next season and likely will play in the Premier League. The club Sheikh Mansour has ripped the "yes" to the attacker's Wolfsburg plate putting on a multiyear contract by 4.2 million euros per season, including bonuses.

To close the deal for Manchester City is now the perfect agreement with the German club: bisgnerà But even before the return (within 5-6 days) Dieter Hoeneß, director of Wolfsburg, absent for a short holiday in Marbella. In cases of German club should finish a figure around 30 million.
