Now we have the squad to cope with an injury to Robinho, this isnt too much of a blow.

Bellemy did much better today than Robinho has done this season. He'll be a more than adequate stand in.

Before today's match I would have been massively concerned especially with the derby game coming up - but after Beller's performance today we have some great coverage for Robi. Get well soon Robi!

I think tevez is more important to our style at this point. It allows Shaun to drop back into midfield and gives our formation a nicer balance to it. And I would rather have the graft of Tevez than the flair of Robbie because we have attacking flair in buckets.

Robbie out for 4 weeks

Postby carolina-blue » Sun Sep 13, 2009 12:08 pm

WTF SSN SAYING ....Manchester City forward Robinho has been ruled out for up to four weeks after suffering a stress fracture to his ankle.

Robinho picked up the injury on international duty with Brazil, and City were initially hopeful the problem was not serious.

City boss Mark Hughes was even hoping that the former Real Madrid ace had an outside chance of figuring in Saturday's Premier League game against Arsenal.

However, after sitting out the 4-2 victory which maintained the club's 100 per cent start to the season, Robinho's injury was confirmed by City.

Scans have shown a stress fracture to the ankle and Robinho will now miss several key games for City, including next week's Manchester derby.

That's shit news.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I wonder if he was carrying that, or a weakend bone for a while.

Its no wonder the amount he gets kicked.

If Bellers can keep up the form of yesterday, we can cope, infact after the Derby, we have some gritty fixtures which will suit Bellers more than Robbie

after the last game, i am not really much worried about robi's absence. apart from derby game :/
his skill would have been a great advantage for us... however the spirits are high and I'm sure we will be fine.
leslie impressed me a lot this campaign and I believe we still can see more. especially after such an excellent game last night.
seeing bellers confidence and commitment make me believe the next greater manchester derby game is ours!

If we just had Robi out i wouldn't be too concerned but if Tevez doesn't make it and Ade gets banned then were going to struggle with RSC not ready then we may have to go for a packed midfield with Bellers on his own (not ideal )but will just mean we'll have to keep the ball on deck.

If all 3 our out i'd go with;

........................Given
Richards......Toure..........Lescott.....Bridge
.................Zabba.......DeJong
Swp..........................................Barry
.................Ireland
..........................Bellers

Thats one hard working team with enough bite to ruffle the Rags feathers.

A bummer. Obviously we'd rather have him fit, but fact is we can cope with losing a star player better than at any point in our club's history. It is a good chance for someone else to come in and make a first team place theirs. And I hope they take it. If his replacement does keep him out of the team, they will have to be playing really well.

It also adds a bit of extra spice to beating the filth, that we will do it without Robinho.
