Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Martin O'Neill : My view is that we don't accept their 1st or 2nd offer Randy, let them get to about £30mn before we show an interest.
Randy Lerner : Are you sure MON, we could manage our debt and you could have an increased transfer kitty
MON : Trust me Randy, like Arnie they'll be back
RL : O'NEILL, whats this about City not upping their bid, in fact what's this about City no longer being interested in our prize asset?
MON : Aaaah, um, they may be back
Obviously, as the source is the Mirror I've just wasted 2 mins of my time and your time, as its clearly bollox
Good sense Dronny, but you know we're gonna get him! Villa probably saw the Lescott saga pan out after they'd let Barry go for bugger all and what you say above is right. But we'll get him. The fact that he's English means that alone, under new regs.
Aye John, time is a great tool in negotiations and the ability not to blink first!! If Villa think we need to wrap it up quickly then they'll happily hold out for more money. If we feign disinterest and let it fester then the ball is back in our court with a gentle reminder in a few weeks of "the deal is still there Gents if interested"
I'd still like him at City but as folks have said on here not for the preposterous £30m Villa are after.

Yeah in theory but people have earmarked him as someone who is going to be the next gerrard/lampard - 30 million for someone who is dead on track for that I would have no qualms over paying - Ozil for example...

I don't see that capability in him personally but both Terry Venables & Peter Taylor were lavishing praise on him on tv a few weeks ago, said they expect him to reach that level & be one of the absolute top players. Both are supposed to know their stuff when it comes to young players.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Gonz ... ez_Giraldoseems that we picked him up on a freebie in January so I'd imagine he'll still be here. Puzzling signing though as he's 27 and he's never been put on the website as a part of the first team set-up???
Plus there wasn't a sniff of him in Givenshoulder/Gunnar/Fulop-gate

Ibra agent quashes exit talk
Manchester City target Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be leaving Barcelona this summer, according to his agent.
The Swedish striker has been tipped for a speedy exit out of Camp Nou after just one campaign with the La Liga giants.
Ibrahimovic has so far failed to live up to his monumental £40million transfer fee and a 16-goal return in his first season has led to speculation that the Catalan giants would be prepared to sell the 28-year-old.
The summer purchase of Spain's star striker David Villa from Valencia has only strengthened claims Pep Guardiola is ready to offload the former Inter Milan and Juventus man, who has been recently linked with a return to Serie A with AC Milan.
But the forward's agent, Mino Raiola, insists Barca are happy with his client's services while stating the ex-Ajax ace is happy to fight with Villa for a place in the Spanish giants' first XI.
"Ibra doesn't move from Barcelona and I don't understand why he should do it," Raiola told Radio Radio TV.
"He does not want to leave Barcelona and the club doesn't want to let him go.
"He didn't achieve the end to the season which he expected but until February everything went well and I think it is an exaggeration to say that he should go away."

I just checked and he's played nearly 250 Prem League games over 8 years. Not exactly a wet behind the ears rookie is he;o)
