when he's (Torres) fit he's next level

big if. he's been dogged by problems for a year or so - RSC gets so much stick because of the same issue, how long do you think it would be before the "fucking crocked waste of money" jibes started surfacing? obviously when fit he's next level but as i said, big if.
i also like the fact that Dzeko would feel more like "our" player, if you know what i mean.

Something's clearly wrong with him...though i guess you could say the same for Wayne Runney, who is the best player in the world. Cough...cough. cough.
Agreed that Torres > Dzeko for a variety of reasons, mostly listed by Ted above, but i'd like to know what the fucl's wrong with him before i would spend that kind of dosh on him. He looks like shit. Is it the haircut?
cheers

Corriere claims Lazio's Aleksandar Kolarov is "practically a Man City player". Fee €18m. Beaten competition from Real.

Would be a quality signing if we got him but I really can't see us buying a left-back for some reason. As much as I think we need one. Mancini seems to rate Zabaleta highly (didn't he play every game under Mancini) so I can see him being fitted in the back four somewhere, maybe Boateng on the left like for Germany?

That's what I'm saying mate. I can't see Mancini going for a left back because I think he will play Boateng there, like he has done for Germany. Will play Zabba on the right because he seems to rate him and HOPEFULLY Komps and Lescott in the middle.

Hold on, Boateng played there only as emergency cover. He is centerback who has played loads of rightback or other way around. Definitely not leftback.

One man mission to diss everything I say eh? ;)
I said I THINK he will play Boateng there, not that I want him to. I would like him to buy a left back and put Boateng on the right. Or possibly even put Kolo at right back but that means one of Lescott or Kompany has to shift. I personally like Lescott but I know who everyone else will favour.
Niall Quinns Discopants wrote: The way I see it, our centerback pairing should be Kompany-Lescott. My heart can't stand another season of Toure as "captain" and "defender". One of the reasons why I can't really enjoy possible Yaya signing as much I'd like to. I fear we are tied to Kolo forever and he simply isn't decent enough player.

That's not true at all. RSC has been more or less injured for vast majority of his career. In Germany and in England. Oh, and there's the tiny difference that RSC is poor striker even when he is fit.
Torres has no previous of injuries. He was virtually ever presen for Athletico since he turned 17. Only last season and season before that he had injuries. And even in those seasons he managed 70 games. Problem with Torres was that Benitez sucked life out of him. Last season for example he was virtually their only senior striker. No matter what competition was, Benitez put him on the pitch and forced him to play 90 minutes. He never had any time to let his injuries heal properly.
Personally I don't worry about Torres' injury record at all. We have other strikers as well to chip in and take weight from him. No player can play as lone forward for 50 games a season for full 90 minutes without fetting injured. Centerbacks maybe but not centerforwards.
And to put things in some fucking context, Santa Cruz has had ONE (uno, ein) decent season in all his career where he managed 19 goals in 37 games. This supposed crock Torres played 22 league games last season and managed 18 goals. That's so different sort of quality I can't believe we are even having this discussion.
Fun quiz by the way, since Santa Cruz came to Europe for 1999/2000 season, his best season as far as goalscoring form goes is aforementioned 07/08 season when he scored 19 goals in 37 league games. The question goes, how many has he managed in his second best season?

why the fuck does everyone conveniently miss the part where i say "Torres when fit is on another level"?
tip - reading people's posts saves needless, boring lectures.
