Ill-informed aren't they? That's why I like TEAMTALK a bit, you can go on other teams' pages and politely correct them!

some of them are actually fairly complimentary or at least reasonable about it. i didn't find that thread particularly negative or insane. Just some scared fans who see the oncoming train that is City about to plow over them. Good times.

Luiz plus Milner next week it looks like if you believe the tittle tattle. I wonder if we'll also sign that Lazio LB and Dzeko? if so that would mean at least 7 coming in if you don't count the Columbian GK kid...surely we'll be clearing out about 4-5 more then -- with Taylor and Petrov already, Jo, Boj likely as well. Probably Ned after his mouthing off, sadly. I really don't want Ned to leave. Wonder who else?

cheers

Mate who knows people at Stoke heard that SWP was there last Weds for discussions. Opinion is that deal is unlikely though.

I know shit about betting odds, do those mean its not profitable to bet on Luiz coming to City because it appears to be very likely?

City linked with Balotelli

The agent of Mario Balotelli claims that Manchester City have shown an interest in the Inter Milan striker.

Arsenal and Real Madrid, who are now managed by former Inter boss Jose Mourinho, are among a number of European clubs to have been linked with the 19-year-old over the summer.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti said at the end of June that he did not want to sell £28million-rated Balotelli, but the Italy Under 21 international has yet to state his commitment and has admitted to being flattered by rumours regarding Arsenal.

However, if Arsene Wenger is planning to make an offer for Balotelli he could struggle to compete with the financial muscle of City and the attraction for the forward of a reunion with Roberto Mancini, the man who gave him his Serie A debut.

Balotelli's representative, Mino Raiola, told Sky Italia: "There is interest from Manchester City, but certainly this is not the only team that thinks seriously about Mario Balotelli.

"I don't want to say that an offer is coming. I'd rather not talk about figures, it is a decision of president Massimo Moratti."

Inter sports director Marco Branca has maintained the party line of Rafa Benitez's club by insisting that Balotelli is not for sale.

Asked about speculation of a €40million (£33m) offer from an unnamed club, Branca told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "He is not for sale so there are no discussions."

According to that link we are more favourites to sign Robbie Keane(10/1) than Joe Cole (20/1)?? Those odds are whack! 10/1 on signing Robbie Keane is a joke! I don't think we would go near him with a barge pole! Oh and Luiz Vid!

Just shows Joe Cole is staying in London I would say. On Keane it seems every club is 10/1, but if it's a case of going into the season with Adebayor, Tevez and Santa Cruz, or Ade, Tevez, Santa and Keane as cover for babies, machine guns, injuries etc, which do we choose?

But I agree Keane just seems to be too 'available' all the time, IE there's something about him that makes managers want to ship him out! Troublemaker?

Not a chance we will sign Ozil chaps, we have brought Silva in to be our creative force, someone just as adapt in the role and almost as young to boot, perhaps you could even argue someone who is more proven and less of a gamble.

Plus the 24-28 Million we spent on Silva is gonna look like damn good value for a player who is comparable (perhaps even superior) to Ozil, when Ozil will be sold after his world cup antics for a minimum of £35 million. There will be a bidding war so i'd never be shocked if he went for over £40 million in the end.

Ozil is great but in Silva we have all we need for the new season.

Friends (only friends not ITKs) who have had good info in the past - i.e. about signings a couple of days before they are confirmed - have stated that it is torres that we have been 'set on' for a long time now - I hope it is him we are trying to complete - we might not get him but I would not be surprised if we are giving it 'every go'

Thanks 1632 for the heads up but lets hope if we secure his services he can rediscover his form as he has been shite this World Cup.

We've been in for him before with no interest shown and I'm fairly certain we're in again. This time though, factors have changed:

1. Liverpool management and circumstances surrounding funding.
2. City's new acquisitions and realistic chance of Premier League title.

Things have changed considerably and I wouldn't be surprised if he is looking at us with a serious desire to move, especially with the new Spanish contingent. Only downside, if he is prepared to leave Liverpool, then he'd be prepared to join one of the current bigger clubs.
