Could be worth it. They lost him thanks to a complete fuck up on there part and I would love it just to piss on Gollums chips again as I hate that cunt.

Milner is very average.
He's a cross. Same ilk as De Jong really. Only good at one thing.

If we sign another couple of players to compliment these 2, say, one who can only score, one who is just fast, one who just does tricks, and one with a good header, and morph them all together, then we'll have one complete footballer at a cost of £150m.

Mint.

Milner proved he cannot beat a man at the world cup, he was tosh. I've never been impressed with him at Villa either. I'm all for signing young English talent, and I'd have Milner at £15m (only coz Villa payed £12m), but anything more than that and I'll be fucking fuming. He'll be as big a let down as Jo at that price. Its fucking £2.5m off the British Transfer Record. Rediculous!!!!!

I agree about his world cup performances but you couldn't be impressed with his performance last season is beyond me, he looked the real deal to me - 30 million is a trifle steep but thats young english players for you

Rumour going round that we have had a bid of 34 million euros accepted for David Luiz but apparently it will have to go to a 'work permit panel' as he is not a regular in the Brazil side.

If we sign young PL English players we'll get our arses spanked that's for sure. We did well on Johnson but if he'd played last season for someone else in the PL he'd cost us a fortune. No way is Milner worth it but I don't care either way anymore, it's all gone mental. It's just how it's going to be for now on.

I thought the work permit application was only applicable if the players nation was outside the top 70 in FIFA's world rankings?

There is a massive rush of stories today in Google news on Google.pt about David Luiz to City. Unfortunately I cant really understand any of them and they aren't appearing on the Spanish websites yet. Other than that City appear to have offered Luiz €3M per annum net.

€32M is being banded about, but City value him at 18. Big gap there. But then wouldn't Benfica be ideal for Robinho to go to? Piss poor league, native language!

Surely they'll give us a permit for a Brazilian though?

It's not as if we'd ever get a work permit & sign a young Brazilian who turned out to be complete, utter, shite is it?

i guess then you dont rate him. i wouldn't try to change your opinion, but i will ask, what english player playing that kind of role would be as good or better. Also how did you rate Lampard at the same age Milner is now. Im saying that cos i rekon Lampard would have demaded a high price at the time. He moved to Chelsea in 2001 for 11 mil age 22.

good point well made...but to be honest I think alot of this 'he's shit' reaction has been caused by the price tag...I don't think anyone genuinely believes he is crap...he's a very decent player and will only get better

I think what sticks in the craw of most is the fact that he will end up costing as much as David Silva...A much more experienced and skillful player

your right, and 30mil is crazy. i mean fucl it if City want to pay that, but tbh i dont think they do or will. 23mil.. 24.. 25 absolute tops.
but then if he turns out to be as good as Lampard is rated in 3 or 3 years that wont seem like a stupid amount of money any more.
