Hughes "close" to being named Fulham manager

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

He is in about right size of job for him. As with any rag turds I hope he fails miserably like I hoped he'd fail in Blackbunr, like I hope Elephant Man fails in wherever he is, like I hope Bryan Robson fails (HAHAHAHA), like I hope Steve Coppell fails etc etc.

I doubt we'll lose to them. Especially if we can ditch RSC to him.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Like fan said...If Fulham are our rivals this year then we are in trouble...

All Premiership teams are our rivals as they are capable of taking points off us. To think otherwise is pretty arrogant IMO.

When we are playing them yes at other times they are just as capable of taking points of other teams. I honestly don't see Fulham competing for a top four place which is where our aspirations lie. Other than when they play us their results should hopefully be academic to us other than potentially taking points of other top four competitors.

You don't think a team that finished 7th in 08/09 and got to the UEFA Cup final last season is a rival to us?

Really?

I agree to a certain extent. I find some people's obsession with hughes quite sickening.

The fucking point, as you so eloquently put it, is that Fulham are our rivals and we shouldn't be wishing their new manager good luck (in my opinion).

Honestly and truthfully other than when they play us no.
If Hughes takes that side to a top four place then he is a damn sight better manager than anyone detractors or fans consider him to be.Top four contenders is where our rivals are.

Only time will tell I suppose but I only hope they don't have all this good luck that is being wished upon them.

I reckon you should post more often btw, it's nice to have a reasoned debate with somebody who has oposing opinions without them getting personal/abusive!

Rivals my arse. If they are rivals then we're fucked & you know it. Lots of people have made comments wishing people good luck without all this nonsense. I bet someone even wished Hodgson good luck & they ARE rivals. No need for this at all.

Wasn't it when Corradi scored 2 during the Pearce days? 3-1 win?

Absolutely right. IF Fulham are roughly in the same part of the league table as us at say Christmas I would expect we will be looking for a new manager as I firmly expect Fulham to be in the bottom half of the league.

I doubt it.

If people want our rivals to do well that is up to them and they are perfectly entitled to share their opinions.

So you don't wish him luck when Fulham play scum, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Villa, Spurs or Everton?
I consider those teams our rivals. I hope we thrash Fulham twice next season but otherwise I quite like Fulham and hope they can take points off our main rivals.

I agree with the highlighted bit but only if they are nowhere near us in terms of points and league position.

I just can't believe how ready some people are to dismiss them. If they hadn't been in the UEFA Cup for so long last season who is to say they wouldn't have improved on their 08/09 position and finished above us?
