Robinho?!

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Robinho?!

Sources close to club: Robinho signed a 4 year deal with Besiktas. We are waiting for official announcement.

This is spreading all over the net...I know it's a rumour but if he really has signed...I wonder how much we got?

Think it was 19 mil being bandied around

Robin-go! Yessss! Well, at least 90% of me is praying its true!

A small part of me still wishes he'd be willing to muck in and give in another go though. Such a waste of talent.

If this is true then good luck to him, but if he can't settle in Spain and England, what difference is it going to make if he goes to Turkey? Yeah, the climate is warmer and its a different culture, but it is well documented that he is happiest when back home in Brazil.

I can see Besiktas in the same boat as us and Madrid a year from now
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

Are they in the Europa League??? If they are i hope we draw them and twat them with him playing the full 90 mins in each game. Such a waste of a player but he only has himself to blame.

Such a waste of talent, but as shown by his move to Santos, he will be at a club where he will be the number one man again.

Actually, having said that :

In some ways I don't know whether to despise him or pity him - a player with his talent, who believes he's got it in himself to be the best player in the world, but fails in Madrid and then Manchester to end up back at Santos and then Besiktas?
He's got to have some 'big fish in a small pond' psychological problem.

There's a bloke on SSN (which is probably marginally better than saying 'I heard from a bloke down the pub') saying they've offered 16 million quid for him, and want to pay him 70k a week. That's a rather large shortfall.

Well they offered 16.7 million beginning of July which we firmly rejected so can only assume there has been an improved offer
