Stop being a fuckin tart. Football needs tacklers as much as the flare players.

Therefore there will be no reaction from the FA and Nige won't be banned,, or will he?

Trouble is, now he will be watched under more scrutiny than ever by the officials.

I reckon someone ought to email the club and tell them to listen to the bile that's coming out of Talksport! I'd be phoning lawyers if I was them or De Jong. Honestly they are slagging the lad and dragging his name through mud. They're inciting a witch hunt and anyone offering up a different viewpoint is cut short. As a radio station they are required to allow points of view. It's simply not being done! Shocking!

I know I should not listen to it but I do and some of the bile today. Mike Quinn said De Jong was malcious and he meant the tackle, and saying it as fact. There only seems to be Talksport still going on about it.

Best bit was this morning when toon Ass Manager Colin Calderwood was on and said it was a tough tackle and was just one of those things as Arfa's foot was planted. He never said De Jong should be beheaded or thrown off a high bridge. He said it's part of football and something he doesn't want out of football. Maybe Calderwood recalls Nolans horrible challenge on Victor Achibe who hasn't played since so kept it stum.

joke of a radio station that sensationalise anything they can to provoke a reaction. They are by far the worst station you can listen to

I heard that too. What gets me is this character assassination of the lad. I'm a neutral, you all know that, so I've no reason to defend the lad. But he's the first to placate any altercation on the pitch, he laughs when you lot jeer him for missing yet another goal scoring opportunity and I've never seen him in a heightened state of aggression in any game. He doesn't play that way! Yes he left his leg in, and there may be an argument that he needs work on his technique given his size and power, but don't brand the lad a thug!

He is not nearly on the same level, but I'd love if nige could become our Roy Keane. He's possibly the most important player to ever play for that shower. And for all the reasons we hate him.

I've watched it, aswell as the one talksport we're raving on about on Holden...

If I see a bad tackle I usually have a reaction, but with both of those, I really thought they we're hard but his feet weren't high or anythin.

The kick on Alonso was shockin tho!

Quite right Mrs R - I think a shedload of writs would have them thinking twice about allowing so called broadcasters to carry out witch-hunts -Durhams just cut someone off for suggesting this - maybe he´s worried

this was always going to happen, and is the price paid by having someone who tackles, fairly i should add, like Nige does. The surface played its part, and the lad wasn't in the best position to either ride the challenge or at least absorb the impact. It was a case of the worst possible set of circumstances (for Mr Ben Arfa at least) occurring at the same time.

as for talkshite, fuck them. what did you expect, a fair, rational viewpoint?

There are challenges like DeJong's in every single game. If you see it at normal speed, it wasn't even the hardest challenge in that game. If they rule them out, they will effectively be outlawing tackling. Why it resulted in a broken leg I don't know, perhaps the bloke's studs got caught in the ground, but I saw the replay of Liverpool Blackpool earlier & there were several challenges very similar, without getting the ball or causing injury.

He didn't make a mistake, it was a good tackle and Ben Arfa was just very unlucky. If his foot had been 1cm off the ground he would have been fine. When you have two blokes coming together it will happen from time to time, but no one even noticed at the time. No Newcastel player complained, nothing. If it wasn't for the WC final kung fu kick, no one would be going on about this.

Some knobhead ref on Talkshite actually trying to say that Nige DIDN´T win the ball - he CLEARLY hasn´t seen the video !! Ben Arfa loses control and the ball is equadistance between the 2 - Nige clearly wins the ball and the ball actually ends up as a pass!! Didn´t win the ball?!! What are these cnuts on!!

They would mate. It's City & we're above Utd & Arsenal for two weeks at least & have just beaten Chelsea. Worst nightmare scenario for those wankers.
