Tevez and the majority of fans and pundits

Tevez and the majority of fans and pundits

Postby the_georgian_genius » Sun Oct 17, 2010 6:51 pm

Hopefully now they will realise that Mancini does know what he is doing and does know best. Everyone is entitled to opinions but on this instance they have been proved wrong. I too thought that sometimes maybe we could go with two up top late on in the game but i always thought the formation and system we used was the correct one with the situation we are in at the moment. Once Balotelli is fighting fit then that is the only time to go two upfront. We are a far better team with Tevez on his own upfront, he sees more of the ball, he's more productive and more importantly we keep the ball more and as a team we are more effective, as proved as soon as Silva replaced Adebayor.

Mancini isn't negative, he just knows what he is doing and hopefully Tevez and a few of the fans can start to see that.

Yeah, lets ignore the games where it didn't work. Credit to Mancini today, but FFS take the blinkers off. There have been many occasions under Mancini's tenure when it hasn't worked, in fact, many occasions when it has gone badly wrong.

The over-reliance on Tevez in that formation is suicidal over the course of the season. The other players on the team are getting an easy ride at the moment due to Tevez's form, but the likes of Barry, De Jong, the defenders need to start chipping in with goals, because the minute Tevez is marked out of a game, or his form drops, we are truly fucked as we have ZERO across the rest of the team to replace his goals.

Tevez. Hating his football and looking to quit. Top scorer in the league. Celebrating like a retard in a bounce house with chocolate birthday cake everytime he scores.

I personally love the drama of mancini and tevez. They will bring the best out of each other. Making him captain was a genius move.

Cheers

Sorry, my post was more in response to The Georgian Genius' post victory ritual of telling everybody he was right and everyone else who dares to question his hero is a prick.

Fact is, our bigger tests are yet to come. We overcame the Chelsea one with flying colours....lets see how things stand after we have played another of the contenders, then, and only then, can we start to suck Mancini's cock, as I still believe that any team who shut Tevez out will shut City out, and the over-reliance on one player is extremely dangerous.

Are you suggesting that the football you've seen this season hasn't been negative? Now, I'm no Mancini hater but some of the tactics this season have had me falling asleep on my mates shoulder. Today we saw a Blackpool team who were all over us because the lads are now used to having that extra defensive players to cover and I'd suggest that he didn't just throw Ade in there to prove a point, but instead as a tactical decision that didn't quite work. I'd also suggest that most people could see Blackpool tiring and the changes were what they expected.

Fair enough, give Mancio a pat on the back for doing his job, but please don't go sucking his plums because we beat Blackpool 3-2. We may be 2nd in the league but it's nothing more than I'd expect with the team we've got and the other forerunners not getting the results they'd normally expect.

ZERO?

Johnson and Silva are now starting to chip in with a few goals and I wouldn't be surprised when Milner and Super Mario start to do the same.

Nope not negative at all, it's not been free flowing attacking football for 90 mins like it was under Keegan but it has hardly been get a goal and defend til the end with the exception of Chelsea, too much has been made out of that just like De Jong's tackle and just like the myth we play with 3 DM.

and i like to praise people who get undeserved flak from some people when it is warrented, and today's game has warrented his formation and system he has used this season.

Yes we had problems against Blackpool, mainly caused by the formation and system that so many in the stands and media have shouted for. We will have problems against other sides in the league playing the system we have played so far this season, that is football. The system and formation we use at the minute will work for us 9/10 times, it's not the unbeatable system and formation but it is the one that gets us the most results at the minute.

Surely Mancio plays his own systems and not those dictated by the media? Also, why can a team like Blackpool realistically play us off the park for the majority of the game, it wasn't just down to Ade getting back into it?

Personally I thought he got it wrong and then took too long to change it, but eh, we won fair and square, just ask Ian Holloway.

I don't think he buckled to anyone, he tried it out today and it didn't work. Also give credit to Blackpool, they are a decent side who are managed really well by Holloway. They will finish around mid table.

They get massive credit from me and I'd suggest that for a few refereeing decisions, we'd not be having this conversation.

No team wins all the games, or plays well in all of them. There is always a game where the chosen starting eleven or formation doesn't work, so what? Fact is that we are two points behind Chelsea at the moment and very much in the title race, that can't be ignored for sure. And as it was said, this only has to work for three or four more weeks until Mario is back and has gotten on form enough to play decently.

Re: Tevez and the majority of fans and pundits

There's this assumption by media pundits - who should know better - and some on here that a top four team should then go away everywhere and win 4 or 5 nil - if not it's the end of the world. Even against a promoted team who have already shown themselves very dangerous.

This is clearly nonsense and a lot of teams will struggle against Blackpool away this season, at least in the early part. That pitch looks like a five a side court.
