Some of you are not worthy to call yourselves Manchester United supporters( yes, I'm looking at you, Rooney apologists).

That fat scouse **** has just had your great club and renowned manager over the barrel, publicly humiliated you all by claiming MU isn't ambitious enough for him and he wants out, only to backtrack few days later with a fake PR scripted apology after getting a big pay raise. All that after showing an indifferent form on the pitch for months and putting the club's name through the mud in the wake of his private indiscretions scandal.

There's no moral victory here for the club, even if they managed to avoid the disaster from the business point of view. Rooney just proved to everyone out there that he could do what no one before was able to pull: publicly disrespect MU and SAF and not only get away with it, but get rewarded in the end. Rooney demonstrated that no matter how much of an ungrateful **** he is as a person, as a player he's so valuable to the current United side, they simply couldn't afford to stick to the principles and boot his fat ass out for fear of immediate consequences in terms of weakening the squad and losing their best player for peanuts.

Times do change. There's no way Fergie would have swallowed that in the past. Remember the boot flying at Beckham's head, Keane and RVN being shown the door when forgetting their place, etc? A couple of days ago when the news just broke many here said "no player is bigger than the club, jog off, United forever, etc etc." Well, Rooney just proved you all wrong, which to me represents a sad state of affairs in modern professional sport.

Ian Holloway, who's being made to look foolish now with his outburst, at least had the balls to tell it like it is without sugarcoating the truth. That's a man of integrity for you, deserves respect for his honesty.

Thats actually really spot on, did a rag really write those words?

I think it was a poster called 'Blue Duck' - a regular poster I think - but a CITY fan - you did not expect objectivity and sense from a scum did you guys??

Anyway - I think there is an angle being missed......

Taggert had the right dog and was going to 'get it put to bed....etc' - this after being 'forced' to put things out in the public domain after getting pissed off with the crowd chanting for rooney at the WB game - talks about a 10am meeting with Gill

In reality what must have happened is along the lines of:

Gill has a number of meetings / conference calls yesterday morning - with baconface over at carrington - Gill probably does the options appraisal with the yanks etc - they will have been:

a) - we back our manager to the hilt - get hard with the player and that will show the world we are not to be messed with !!!

you can imagine the yanks would have asked for an impact analysis - with Gill saying something like: "well rooney will either be sold for less than £30m in January or buy out his contract for £5m later....... effectively either a £40m or £65m loss over what you would have hoped to get..... - also fuelling fans complaints and perhaps strengthening PL opposition...also might lead to us dropping out of the top 4 and losing CL revenues..."

Yanks - "....don't be so fucking stupid - that is not an option..."

b) we totally capitulate - give in to rooney's wage demands - eat humble pie - this will be a big negative for the rest of the squad who feel personally insulted by rooney - but the fans are so thick we might be able to sway them - fuck it - we can probably delude them into feeling like we have just made a major signing - double whammy!!! ........... it will mean swallowing a lot of pride - essentially telling our manager to shut the fuck up and toe the line (but we have done that before) - good thing is that he will be then under a 5 year contract and we can sell in the summer for £70m to whack off your PIK obligations or give to the kids as dividend payments - basically a choice of business Vs pride

c) - well actually cannot really see a c)

Yanks - "FFS - you got us up early for this - fucking hell Gill - get a grip - there is only one option - call the coach over from the pitch and we will tell him how he has to sell it...."

I think the cash fund they have was at least partly to smooth the transition between Ferguson & whoever; so that the new manager would be able to sign some players rather than being left completely in the shit. If they spend most of it now, it's unlikely Mourinho will accept the job.

I mean no offence - but why do posters have to keep going on (in a critical way) about the desire of some CITY fans (a fucking lot actually) to take delight in the demise of those scum bastards...

Perhaps is is generational?? - I do not know your background - mine is Salford born and bred - 40 odd years of getting shit from those scum bastards - and up until a couple of years ago - there was no option for me to take my hatred of them out in some 'positive' way - e.g. like just focussing on CITY and us winning things - that was never going to happen in my lifetime - until along came the fairy god sheik!!!

The vehicle I have had is to hope for their demise - and obsess about that - be grateful when other teams got stronger - anything to stop those fuckers winning everything

So do not be surprised if decades of pure hatred are not so easily turned off - perhaps after we win the PL for the 4th time in a row I might start to let go................ but I doubt it

You (and many others) might not understand the depth of anti-scum feeling - but it is not for you or anyone else to tell others what they should do with their feelings

These are general comments - not particularly aimed at you

I get your point, but in the past it was the case of maybe they are coming back to be commoners in the prem. Now it is a case of we are passing (or if you are John68.. PASSED them) and it is a bit fun as this time there is substance on our side.

That said I heard the Glazers have given Fergscum a 100 million dollar transfer budget. I am sure this will really mess up both the debt service and the Champions League compliance, so I am not sure I am buying any of it.

OK we are in front of them at the moment in the table but lets not get too excited that they are in free fall. They will be there or thereabouts in the league this season and finishing above them is not a certainty. It ain't looking good for them but..........

Clubs neither succed nor fail by accident or coincidence. There always motor factors (not spares shops) that define the direction a club goes and neither City nor the rags are immune from their effects.
For City, the day that His Excellency invested at CoMS, it became inevitable that we would rise. The day that the Glazers funded their buy out at the swamp in the manner they did, it became inevitable that the rags would fall. The only questions left unanswered at the time were "How soon?" and "How far?".
We all understand how long it can take to build a successful squad, allowing for mistakes to be made, (then rectified), strengthening the playing squad, getting them to gel and for the results to reflect the progress. Because of that, we understood their would be a time factor before we rose to the top.
Similarly with the rags' failure. It was inevitable but because of the strength they already had, it was obvious it would not be immediate. They still had quality players in their squad to buy them time and a massive global following to help delay the financial downfall.
From winning the CL 3 years ago, they have declined. Slowly and hardly noticeable at first but declined nevertheless. City on the other hand have risen. It is my belief that we now have the best squad in the Prem, though it still needs a little more time to reach full speed. There is no reason why we can't make our challenge on the title a very real one and I fully expect us to win a trophy of some sort this season.
The Rooney incident has not changed anything in real terms at the swamp. It has only made their weakness more public and more obvious....and possibly accelerated the speed they will fail.

It is not only the future that is bright and Blue...IT IS THE PRESENT.

Regarding our obsession with the rags.
From the day I said I was a City fan (sometime in the mid 50s). I have been abused and ridiculed. That is a very long time. When we gained promotion in 1966, the loudest chant when the trophy was presented at maine Road was: "UNITED HERE WE COME". It was sung long, loud and emotionally. It was the outpouring of our hearts that we were goin to pay them back for the pain they had visited on us for so long.
As we rose above them, won trophies and they became relegated, our hurts became healed and we got on with being Blue.

For 30 odd years, a newer Blue generation has suffered what we did...only worse and for far longer. Abuse and ridicule on a daily basis, at work and in school. It is only reasonable that City fans of all ages have been waiting for their chance of revenge.

I've lived in Manchester all my life and never been 'abused' for supporting City.

Fuck them.........whether it happens now, or a year or two down the line when bacon fucks off, the fact is that there is a day of reckoning coming for United, and on the way to that day, I will be making the most of every last fucking minute.

I came to be a city fan rather later probably than most on here, in my late teens - however I had already developed a deep deep[strike]dislike[/strike] hatred for their club's attitude and their fans' attitude which I suppose is one of the reasons I eventually gravitated to following CIty after casually following lower league football for many years, and City being in said lower leagues.

I will be totally fucking remorseless to every one of the arrogant munich pricks, because over time there is not one I know who hasn't delighted in our club's misfortune, and also the personal misfortune we all seemed to share of supporting what has been for a very long time, a "joke" of a club.

I will not let any opportunity pass to twist the knife

See I'm not sure how old you are or what era you went to school but your really telling everyone on here that you have never had the piss taken out of you or another cup win for them rammed down your throat at any point during your life as a blue??

I was at high school between 88-93 and that was not a pleasent time to be blue and today I even get rags taking the piss. Iv been tld today by a rag, that all City fans wanted Rooney, Yaya is going back to Barca and because we sit in 2nd all Citys fans including me think we have won the league. I would say some baiting goes on at least once a day in my life as a blue.

As I say, it's not happened. If it did I'm pretty sure I'd get over it quickly not and retaliate by constantly bleat on about United's non-existent 'downfall' on a City forum.

I particularly love that line. Apparently they had tea with Yaya and he confessed to them his desire to leave playing with his brother and being the highest (or maybe one of the highest) paid players in the prem is just not enough.

Then what would we have to talk about?

Have you never had a conversation with a United fan 'cos surely if you did, you'd at least get some honest banter? (and the will to kill them)

Gotta say, that would seem to exclude you from being a regular in any pub in the Manchester area, where I have always found the banter to be very healthy. If you haven't experienced the banter, then I can understand why you wouldn't feel the need to dish it back.

Very strange though, do you live in a monastery? In fact scrub that, as I bet even the monks would be gloating ill informed red twats
