I disagree there I think Ireland would still make it into the 1st team ahead of SWP. Same with De Jong. And they would make it ahead of Robinho too I am afraid at the moment.

Ireland has been very average this term and I think he would find it hard to retain his place. Shaun hasn't been great the past couple of weeks, with any luck he can rediscover his form terrorizing Fulham, West Ham and Villa.

All of the goal scorers today are ethnically/technically Celts.
Seriously, given all his injuries he's still as fast as f**k - how quick must he have been at 19??

It was with me i'm afraid Doug, i couldn't see past the loathing i had for him as a man before he came to City. I didn't go out of my way to look at his football prowess i just thought he was a horrible little shit and when we went in for him i was one of loudest in shouting my opinion of him as i thought he would be very destructive in the dressing room.
How wrong i was, i am full of admiration for him now and think he is very much an integral part of our team. I thought he wouldn't get a look-in this season but his performances have been tremendous up to now, another MOTM display. Long may it continue.

He's the guy you hate when he's playing for the opposition. The guy you should want on your side.
Remember these words when he signed up?
I'll clean their bootsbut you just know he has no intention of cleaning any boots. He's a fighter and he's doing his share of transforming us into a side "who expect to win every game".
And that first goal of his wasn't the first of its' kind either, he has talent.
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

LEGEND!
He did go on to do two things I'd love to do as well. Score for City against the rags, and to punch one! Well done Craig, hope you get away with the incident and keep on going for us. ;o)

To get the best out Bellamy I fear he can't keep playing all these games at full pace without starting to suffer. If we can rotate him a bit when we get Ade, Robinho and RSC he will be all the more effective when he plays. Unless his early season training has healed his wounds!!
Maybe RSC will be fit for a run-out Weds?

Most of us on this forum (not all) doubted Bellamy when he was signed based on his past reputation and his injury record and I think that was justified. I cannot remember him doing so well while playing for Blackburn, Liverpool or Westham.
So can it be that he finally found a team wherein he fits perfectly and gets the kind of service and have the kind of players around him that allow him to shine ?
I think in City, he has found that team.
Well done Sir Bellers.

I got Bellamy on the back of last seasons away shirt two days after he signed. I like players who work their bollocks off and that's why I've had Barton and Tiatto on the back of old shirts in the past, and probably why I chose Bells. But I honestly didn't realise how good a player he was until I saw him play every week. The same can be said for Shay. I thought he was a good keeper, but clearly he's the best in the Premiership.

It was insightful listening to Gary Speed on Football Focus yesterday talking about Bellers. Clearly they are mates as he said they had spoken earlier in the week and that Bellers was really loving it as he had always wanted to play with great players and now he feels that he is being driven on by their presence.
My fav player at the moment by a country mile....goals, workrate, skill, quality, speed, tenacity...only one downside, if you're going to get done by the old bill its better to punch a geezer than give him a slap!

He has been excellent. Today was great, but in his other games for us he has show exactly the same commitment, effort and yes, skill. I am happy to admit I was one of the ones who really did not want him at the club. Having seen what he offers the team it is clear that I was completely wrong. He is one of those players you only see the bad side of when he plays against you. But if the season ended now, he would probably get my vote for player of the year.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

Saw Sky Sports News this morning and they showed his celebration after the first goal and you can hear him shouting towards us lot sat there "What you talking about, what you talkin about?"
We know that he reads this board from time to time, I can only presume that was him responding to the criticism some of us (me included at the time) gave him for joining our club for what at the time seemed like a vast over-inlfation of his value, but this season so far he's proven that he's worth every penny and more.
Well done Mr Bellamy, for me, at the moment, given your current form, I would pick you ahead of Robinho week in week out, and as a Robinho fan that speaks volumes of how much you have changed my opinion of you.
I take it all back.... and long may you continue to spur us on to (hopefully) a top 4 finish!
Thank you Bellers!

hopefully he'll score at the swamp infront off the stretford end and just do something crazy that will piss the scum fans off!.
In Hughes i trust (just about with this one)
Blue_2
Thats the problem, imo he isn't a big improvement on Benjani, or Sturridge, for that matter, amd he is an odious little twat.
In what way is he better?, he won't score more, a glorified Vassell - ie works hard.
zuricity
if he signs for us it will be a disgraceful action, worthy of Mark Hughes being fired.
NQDP
That's my week well and truly ruined monday morning. He will destroy the dressing room. Imagine what he will do when he finds out we have sensitive soul like Ireland on the dressing room who doesn't really like banter about his hair? He will rip that boys confidence to pieces and probably force him out of the club.
Disgusting signing and goes to prove what a complete cunt Hughes is.
Hooty van Tooty
the rag hs now confirmed my theory that he is a useless cunt. cant wait til the summer when our proper manager can get rid of dead wood such as this. i bet sturridge is like a pig in shit.
fuck craig bellamy. fuck mark hughes.
i will never ever cheer that cunt in a city shirt, even if he scores a hatrick at the swamp, which he won't cos he's fuckin pap.
OhDannyBoy
Hope he proves all you people who already want him out WRONG!!
Someone who is gonna show some real passion. Adds a bit of fight to our team
Great signing
Sorted
Bellamy = COCK
Hughes = COCK
he will run his heart out for us.
Foe style hopefully.
....yes, it's sick but I fuckin detest the cunt.
