Tevez hands in transfer request?????

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Couldn't agree more Ant. If he has handed in a transfer request, I suppose it could be that it's a hush hush one intended for him to go home at the end of the season. It could have been a deal between him & Bob; that he gets us into top 4 & fucks off & it's been leaked. These morons reacting badly towards him just give the media what they're looking for. We could still be planning to use him all season, even if he's going.

I see Your point, Mates. And, theoretically I do agree with, bar the real world is always more complex than black or white.
1) I don't buy for a second this ultimate "request" supposedly handed just after realising the OS interview!
2) Carlos is a Latin-American Mean People's man and we have to take him and handle him for what he is - strenght and weakness.

I have already tried to post on this argument and been taken as wind up, somehow; but actually we live a very complicated world which is simply impossible to be managed without a proper degree of colture and qualification and HE only has plenty of gifts to be afforded on the pitch, but he has zero of those needed to behave publicly upon spotlights.

Let's take HIM as our beloved Georgie Best and let's help him to feel a bit home even when thousands miles far his perceived own.

I don't believe the shit about the OS interview either. When the fuck would Tevez expect the interview to come out, especially as it's also in the magazine!? Would he expect them to pull the magazine from publication? He knew exactly when it would come out, so either Tevez is telling the reporter a load of shite or the reporter is telling us a load of shite.

Also the idea that he was so pissed off at missing 5 mins v Bolton; he suddenly asked for a transfer!!?? My arse.

If there's any truth inthis story it has fuck all to do with either of those incidents.

Do you not think that City, as they pay his astonomical wages, can, as part of the contract in place say to Tevez - "Carlos we want to do a feature interview with you in the magazine this month and this how it needs to go...."?

Well if it went like that, It must have come from Gary Cook the PR and marketinhg genius, and he must surely be fired because this is fucking embarrassing if it turns out to be true.

However, what does Carlos want? One minute its homesickness and retirement, the next its, a transfer request. Personally I think its a Kia Joorabchian ego trip. He's seen Rooney get a much improved contract, and is now going to try and get his player to get the highest wages in the prem....especially when we have the capacity to award such a deal.

Finally, i think i saw a stat that we had either never won a game, or won one game this season when Tevez was missing. It may only be West Ham, but it shows we can play without him, and win.

The choice is his...Sadly, I think he will leave to somewhere like Real. Manchester City will move one, whereas Carlos will be riding the pine only to see him request a move in 12 months because he isn't getting the playing time...then it won't be our worry.

You don't do an interview with a player in two parts telling him exactly what he's got to say IN SPANISH, you ask him how he feels & if the reply you get is to your liking, you do the interview & if the result is still to your liking you put it out. The idea they forced Tevez to say that is childish & nowhere is it being claimed that he didn't answer the questions truthfully. The claim is that HE CHANGED HIS MIND after the Bolton incident. It's clearly horseshit & if he has asked for a transfer it's nothing to do with either.

Carlos Tevez: Club statement
http://mcfc.co.uk/News/Team-news/2010/December/Carlos-Tevez-A-statement

It is with disappointment that we confirm to our supporters that Carlos Tevez has submitted a written transfer request. The Club can also confirm that the request has been rejected.

The Club remains disappointed by this situation and particularly with the actions of Carlos' representative.

Roberto Mancini and all at the Club have shown, and will continue to show, sensitivity to Carlos' personal circumstances including the issue of his family being based overseas. Indeed Following his suspension as a result of the game against Bolton Carlos requested and was given special dispensation by the Manager to take leave overseas.

The written transfer request is in stark contrast to Carlos' stated position in both public and club contexts. Significantly, over recent months, the Club has also received numerous requests from Carlos’ representative to renegotiate and improve his playing contract as well as more recently a request to extend that contract by another year.

However, in line with the Club's policy of not negotiating playing contracts mid-season this has not been granted. Carlos' current five-year contract has three-and-a-half years to run and he is the highest paid player at the Manchester City Football Club.

This is both an unfortunate and unwelcome distraction and the Club will remain focused on the games ahead in what is turning out to be a very promising season. The door remains open for Carlos to be selected to play.

Well done to the club for coming out and clearing this up.

Nothing that cannot be resolved IMHO. Fucking agents yet again being cunts.

Very interesting to see that they explicitly state that he is the highest earner at the club. I bet you any money that the fact that his agent wanted him to be "paid more than the likes of Yaya" is exactly what is behind this when, in reality, he already is paid more than everyone

Well, I have to say that Tevez has lost much of my respect for this. Great player on the pitch, both for the goals and the workrate, but this move shows he's either too easily manipulated by his agent, or downright greedy.

It's sad because he and the club were growing together, he was just Rooney's understudy at the swamp and we made him the main man for our front line, giving him the chance to shine and really prove his worth, while he helped the club raise its profile through his goals.

As much as it's telling us what Tevez situation is, I recon it's also telling Tevez what his situation is. I bet the story he's been getting from his agent is different to the one on the OS. I bet he didn't know he was the highest paid player for a start.

As stated above, I bet you any money that therein lies the crux of the whole issue

"they don't appreciate you enough Carlos"

"not showing you enough respect Carlos"

"you have been the best player by a mile, why are you not the best paid"

Hold the horses, please Gents.

Charlie has been variously supposed of being:
- pissed off by the management's misrespect to the Filth,
- rifting with the manager because of training procedures
- rifting with the manager because of tactics
- being depressed because of missing home

Still - he undoubtedly loves the way the Blues feel for him (see the run to the stand after scoring to hug the fans) and he is still enjoying his life onto the pitch (see the look into his eyes just after scoring his last versus Bolton, while spotting at Yaya for the assist).

NOW.
I don't know - and don't give a filthy shit - if he has been permitted a trip home and the local media are playing on that, maybe fed by the bloody british press.... if not now it will occur again and again because is one of the last and more spicy argument of the bitter anti-city, anyway.

Either way - You even have to consider that he's not speaking more than 10 english words after years of residence because he cannot bother or be arsed... he simply don't because he is simple not used to work on his intellectual improvement... just like some of our craftmen grand-granddads used to be about a century ago... He was born in a barrio of a Country where landowners are still widely influential on the whole econmy and welfare policies, ffs.

I see Your point Ted and I'd agree with You all the way if You were talking about GazzBaz or Vinnie... but everything is relative and everyone has to taken into his own contest.

He is just an unschooled mind - with a big heart and deep feelings, working thousands of miles far from his loves and his neighbourhoods - who sometimes happens to think: I have already earned more than what my family will need for a whole life, why the hell I am so far from who/what warm my hearth up? we all should be aware of the above before judging Charlie, because the gutter press definitely are stoking that fire... imho
