I think Tevez has blown his legend status, which prior to all this was 'gift wrapped'. He's now going to remembered as a guy who betrayed us. Legends, there are many, and we can name them. It's more than just beeing a fleeting great player, it's about how much esteem the player is held. I'm afraid, Tevez cannot be placed in the same realm as 'our heros'.

Barca have stated it is no longer possible to make 'unsustainable signings' (like Ibrahimovic). He could take a pay cut I suppose, but then they wont have a transfer budget either - and they dont need him.

Real is a possibility but then even they have shown tightening of the belt.

Wouldn't be too surprised if he stays as there are no options.

If not cheers Carlo, you soft, emotional whinging git.

I doubt he has the balls to come back from Argentina. He'll stay there until its all sorted. He probably wants to spend Christmas with his two young girls anyway and has planned this for weeks.

I think he's in tenerife or some shit mate?

Anyway, refusal to play is official breach of contract and we should sue.

He'll play if we need him and he'll give 100 pc I'm sure, but what the fuck does it all do for team moral in that case?

Come back Ade, all is forgiven, you can get back in the team now!!. BTW everyone must see this is about money. Everyone on Fox US is saying he is acting like a little baby

Ok, just another slant on this from a different angle.
Tevez says he has no problem with the manager. Therefore his problems must be with Cook and Marwood.
He knows going home is not an option because no team in Argentina can afford him and we have the knap hand holding the remaining 3.5 years of a potentially broken contract
If there's a shread of truth in the "I'm homesick" scenario will his missus settle for Spain where the only credible alternative lies?

Thinking outside the box, who do we need most at this time when we're pushing for Champions league or even the title? Tevez (one of the top 3 strikers on the planet at this time) or Cook and Marwood?

If Cook and Marwood disapear would this placate tevez's problem? .. Not if the homesick thing is for real but we all know Tevez is'nt behind the statements made so far - he's far to dumb for that.

Massive gamble but like the old salesmans pitch (the half nelson) if you remove the problem the protagonist has to buy in or the whole story becomes make believe!

Execs are 2 a penny! Maybe good ones a little rarer! The question therefore remains if cook and marwood are removed would Tevez stay?

When players put in transfer requests, they should be made to not get paid(if there not playing) whilst there transfer request is in place.
It's fucking shocking that he will still be getting paid whilst being on strike lol.

Absolute tripe. Read GGs thread on his previous history if you think the problem is at the club. The problems are all in his head. And what's this about his missus? He left her to run round BA with that Brenda Aznicar bird, and last time he was home some other trollop came out in the BA press and said she was shagging him.

I agree with you that it is unlikely HE submitted a 'written transfer request' as it is unlikely he can read and write.

No. Cook and Marwood implement policy and run the club in accordance with ADUG's wishes. This is about agents and said agents not getting what they want which is a pay day for renegotiating a contract. Club policy and therefore ADUG's policy is to reduce what is spent on agents and make the agents work for what money they do earn ie keep your client in line. Cheap stunts such as renegotiating a contract with 3 years plus to run is not something the club will engage in.

Also turning the club inside out to accommodate a players demands is fucking lunacy. Easier and simpler to just buy another striker. The end.

Let him go. Whether his reasons be financial, egotistical or family-related - if he's set on going then let it be. We're in the position that we can attract some fantastic replacements.

We're also in the position that we can attract some more single-minded mercenaries who won't care two hoots which club they are playing for, as long as they get paid the wages and win the trophies. This latest Tevez story and Balotelli's recent behaviour is starting to pi$$ me off, I'm fast losing a sense of identity with my club's players.

Ok, I'm only punting this around because it hasn't been mentioned yet.
Only his statements are contidictionary!
Homesick or can't work with the management (not Mancini - his words).
If he wants to be near his kids he has to be close to the birth mother no matter what the state of their relationship is! He can poke who he wants but he won't get to see his kids unless she buys in.
I completely understand that what I'm suggesting would be seen as the club selling out to keep him sweet to the detriment of the whole of all MCFC staff but is it worth considering until we can get the best replacement which would most likely be in the Summer?
So which is it and who's pulling his strings?

It's not worth considering at all mate. You can't just go around sacking employees because player X doesn't get on with them, unless it is proved that their behaviour warrants it.

If Tevez releases a statement tomorrow saying that he wants to leave because Cook and Marwood touched him up in their office then fair enough, but not because they wouldn't give him a new contract/let him live in Argentina and fly back for the games or whatever the fuck his problem is.

The problem is that we've all sold out (as has every other club if they had our means) on the ethic that hard work equals sucess.
Players have sold out on it! .. Fans are seduced by it and managers are required (especially with our ownwers welth) to engage or jettison whatever personnel they see fit as long as the club moves forward. Now if the casualties are in the boardroom or on the pitch do our owners really care?
They want success and they aren't going to fuck about with sentimentallity!
The question remains: if Teves's goals get us into the CL this season is it worth geting rid of executive employees if thats the problem? and if this is flawed who do we contract to take Teves's place and push us on to CL qualification?

FFS, he's a footballer, albeit an extremely gifted one. A few of you seem to think he's irreplaceible. No he's not. The only reason he's appeared to be carrying the team is because it was built around him. But it's not centred around one player anymore, and hasn't been since Mancini took over. I'd rather have him than not, but he's certainly replaceable. It'll cost, but we're hardly short of money, are we.

For once I cannot believe the media can find an anti-City thread on this. If it is all about Cook / Marwood, Tevez should be made to explain himself. It must be about money, otherwise what problem would there be with Cook / Marwood.
A contract is a contract, and as the highest payed player, he has no qualms, or that should be the case. For once, I hope the media paints him to be the greedy bastard he is, and for once makes the club the innocent and blameless party.

Cook and Marwood are seen by the owners as the people to take the club forward, and results on and off thepitch sugeest it is on schedule. Tevez is just a bit part player in this, whether he likes it or not. As we saw at West Ham the team is gaining such domination in matches that goals will inevitably come.

Too much emphasis is placed on main strikers - did Arsenal fall apart when Ian Wright went, or Scum when Van Horseface was shown the door?

If Tevez doesn't play - and I'm not convinced there is an exit route open - then some bugger else will be on the teamsheet and will score.

Personally I would really like to see Santa given a go in these next 4 games. I would play Balotelli on the left, but I dont buy into the Jo bandwagon!

I disagree, if this happens the player becomes bigger than the club.
What if Silva has a shot rather than pass it to Tevez so he could score, can he complain about Silva and we have to get rid of him?
Mancini subs him for tactical reasons / give him a rest, he kicks off do we sack Mancini?
The two rivals for the Golden boot are Tevez and player X, do we buy player X and keep him in reserve to please Tevez?
Tevez buys a yellow Ferrari, to find de Jong already has one, he wants to be the only player with a yellow Ferrari, so we sell de Jong?

I know these are extremely far fetched, but where does it stop?

I'm not saying that we should ignore a problem with Marwood and Cook, if they are interfering with the players. However sacking these because one player has a problem with them?
If their conduct is causing these issues then look at changing that, maybe speak to current and former players. Sack them because they are shit at their job and make the club look bad, don't sack them due to ONE players demands, regardless of how good that player is.

I have had a good look round twitter on this and it seems all the well known journalists are coming down on the side of City. Much like the journos rounding on Rooney when he acted like a complete knob with United. Lets home we dont fold like a pack of cards like they did and we can leave this situation with our heads held up high.

I am no fan of Cook but he was an easy target. I hadnt said a word either way but that statement referring to Cook/Marwood showed that Tevez is at.

I would love nothing more than to freeze Tevez out of football. If an Argie side can come up with 30M for him then by all means he can go. Go anywhere else and the whole footballing world will know he is a complete c**t.

The 'problem' seems to be that they wont negotiate about a year extension and a pay rise. That's not a problem to me. He can fuck right off.

I agree with this Ted - this is not the time for pettiness or 'cutting our nose off' etc - the calm thing to do would be:

a) step up the search for a quality replacement (I have always been keen on Dzeko - think he would be perfect for prem)

b) sell Tevez strictly on our terms - for the right price and not some 'deal' a la Robbie and Bellers

c) pick Carlos until the deal(s) are done

That is the professional and reasoned approach - if someone is not going to be professional let it be the other party - if Carlos refuses to play then we can apply discipline then - I am sure that we would have the upper hand if at such a point we dock him his wages - but he cannot move on because we have his registration for 3 1/2 more years
