I know he's already on big wages, but he has become a world great since he joined and perhaps he feels he should be paid the same as Rooney, given he is just as important, if not more important than he is to the scum?
I don't think its a coincidence that this follows very soon after Shrek's stunt.
It stinks, but is this the future of new contract negotiations? I hope not, but I've seen Gerrard, Rooney and Lampard (to a lesser degree obviously) make a similar stand and make sure their importance to the club is FURTHER rewarded.
Its not completely unusual is what I'm trying to say I suppose... greedy and selfish, yes, but not unique.

From his statement, his only gripe is that the "Executives" have made life impossible for him (quite how they've managed this is beyond me). Note: not his teamates, not the fans, not the lack of ambition, not the owners, nor even Mancini, but the "Executives"
So, if - a big if - he pulls on a blue shirt again and resumes normal service, at least for the time being, I'm sure a form of words can be found to smooth things over.
Not for us I'd guess. If someone betrays you, no amount of fine words - or goals - can ever restore things to what they were.
"ludicrous and nonsensical".

I'd like to see them take it to FIFA..if not just to see if they really do have an agenda against us

"If this matter goes to FIFA, then so be it. Any compensation that FIFA might award to City would be less than the amount they can command in the transfer market for the player. It would make sense to sell the player, that is the sensible solution all round. Let's hope the club sees reason."
From a purely financial view that's true, and with the UEFA rules, City may be forced into it. But, possibly our mega-minted owners might see the value in calling his bluff, pour encourage les autres...
