I hope that's true

Not sure where this was lifted from but it was the first comment on an espn story.
Also never seen Ruiz play but with Boateng, Boyata, Richards, Onuoha and Kompany I don't see why we need another young defender who'll take time to adjust to the league.

You mean Luiz (Chelsea bid just rejected)?
With the greatest of respect mate this is why Mancini is manager and we aren't. Firstly he has said he is looking ahead and secondly Onuoha will never be in a champion team, Boyata we dont know and I'm not (nor is Bobby I reckon) too sure about Richards either. Boateng has a long way to go to say the least and Kolarov's defending against Newcastle was on the poor side of dire. All that sort of leaves Kolo, Lescott, Kompany and the mad enigma that is Zabaleta.
David Luiz, however, would be a dead cert, it is widely acknowledged.

I actually think a back line of ........
Zabba - Kolo - Kompany - Lescott
......looks pretty good. With Richards, Kolarov and Boateng ready to step in, I think we look extremely healthy at the back.

I'll bow to Bob/Marwood's opinion if we sign him though as I would assume they're convinced he'll be a fantastic player in the future & too good to miss.

I watched plenty of his games live when I was living in Portugal (2006 and 2007) and right now after some years I have to admit he's improved a lot.
He's equally adapt to play as CB or FB and i believe this versatility is what Mancio/Marwood find extremely interesting. He has been linked with Real, A.C. Milan and Inter as early as late 2007/early 2008. Benfica will ask a busload of cash for him though.
