I think it's bloody hilarious that the German press refer to us as 'Manchester Town Centre'

demands of 180K a week have got to be wide of the mark. I mean FFS...who would pay him even 65% of that? Only us.

His reps need to wobble their heads or they can fucl off -- if the salary demands are true.

insanity.

The usual question for me would be 'Do we want a player who only wants money', but I suppose that horse has bolted; hasn't it?

dunno gillie - its probable though as there is registration/redtape/officey type work to be done and most won't be in until Tuesday

anyway - won't come for less than 180K a week stinks of greed and has a big alarm bell ringing for me - top player or nay

No...they've got it from the Wolfsburg Paper

http://www.newsclick.de/index.jsp/menui ... d/13478326

Wolfsburg counts on Dzeko in the training camp Large opinion Wolfsburg (DPA) - the possible transfer of of Wolfsburg gate hunter Edin Dzeko to Manchester town center does not go obviously in the express speed over the stage. The soccer federal league club wants to fly on Sunday with wooed the Stürmer first to the training camp to Spain. “After the present conditions Hasebe all players of the federal league cadre, thus also Dzeko” come along, communicated the VfL at the New Year's Day on request with the exception of the Japanese. In England it had been speculated that Dzeko could already accumulate on Wednesday in the Prime Minister League for Manchester town center against the FC arsenal. Town center is after media reports 35 million euros for the 24 years old Bosnier to offer. VfL manager Dieter Hoeneß, which was in the past days in the vacation, did not want to commentate the messages. Although the Dzeko change is not final, already over a possible replacement for the Stürmer in the team of of Wolfsburg coach Steve McCLaren one speculates. As candidates among other things Eljero Elia (HSV) and Bryan Ruiz (Twente Enschede) are considered. A return of ex national player Kevin Kuranyi into the federal league seems after an explanation of Kuranyis club direct current generator Moscow as improbable.

well considering that's a completely different fucking article where the only point is that he's going to training camp..No

And a happy new year to you Bish!

sorry Manx..was arguing with the Mrs at the time and took it out on you..love you really ;-)

Maybe he really does prefer Juve and is stalling for the summer. They wont have to pay him as much as us as I assume their tax deductions are a lot less than ours.

If he fucks about we should move on and let him be happy in Italy. I dont want him if he doesn't want to be here.

Its bad enough reading that shit week in week out about Tevez and Balotelli.

If he truly wants too much he can fuck off. Get Torres. The tax thing is complicated as the Italian economy is now very high risk, and too big to be bailed out by the creditor nations like Greece, Ireland, Portugal and even Spain have been.

Therefore some government is going to have to get hold of the tax and spending policies. So who knows what tax you'll eventually be paying anywhere in south Europe? Whether you think that taxing high earners more has an adverse effect on business and talent (non-football!) is another point.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... -deal.html?

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has personally intervened to save Edin Dzeko’s £30million move to Eastlands from collapse.
Khaldoon rang Dzeko’s representatives on New Year’s Eve to offer new terms for the 24-year-old Wolfsburg star after initial talks between City and the player broke down with both sides £55,000 a week apart.
The Wolfsburg striker is threatening to stay put until the summer unless his £180,000-a-week demands are met.
City initially refused to budge above a best offer of £125,000. But the impasse proved too much for Khaldoon, who went over the heads of chief executive Garry Cook and football administrator Brian Marwood to sanction a new offer of about £150,000 a week.

It is still well short of what Dzeko wants and now face an anxious game of cat and mouse to see if Roberto Mancini’s No 1 target will join them as the club chase their first trophy since 1976.
Dzeko, whose affairs are controlled by his close-knit family, has the option of staying with his German club in the hope that some of Europe’s big guns come in for him this summer when their budgets will be more favourable.
This month, City are the only club who can match Wolfsburg’s £30m asking price.
Wolfsburg boss Steve McClaren believes will not regret going the extra mile to sign Dzeko, insisting: ‘There is no question that City would be buying a top-quality player. I think he’s up there with the best in Europe.’

Since when have City EVER discussed their transfer policies with the media. A media that VK has had to put a shot across their bows. Do you really believe that City would speak to these 2 "journalists" or as I call them make up artists.

Why would Khaldoon get involved a wages structure would be agreed and discussed any claims in excess would be passed back to the Sheikh's and they would agree or so no they would at no stage get directly involved

This is just made up nonsense its gets a figure for his weekly salary out in the public arena so that when ever they talk about our players all they will quote is his weekly salary Yaya £220k pw do you remember. Its not true but that is what everybody believes

This is crap journalism at its very best and good journalism at its very worst

Whether he comes or not it will have nothing to do with this but if he doesnt you get bet they will claim its about his excessive wages demands and if he does all they will quote is the £185k pw wages

So let me get this straight...

Dzeko apparently writes to us saying he wants to join then proceeds to bicker over his pay, a deal which by the way is guaranteed to be massive in comparison with his current one at wolfsburg, which also will allow him to join the club he himself is apparently desperate to join and play in the premier league and champions league (next season), the two big stages of world football...

...*sigh*...

I still remain certain, if we want him we will do all that is necessary to see him come and he would be a fool not to.

Everything in the papers is just speculation based on whispers.

yeap. this^^^
Plus: he/his advisors are perfectly aware that juventus has nothing to offer - neither financial nor success wise - in comparison to MCFC.
So, as per BBS, nothing to watch here, move along.
