He´s right - experience will be our nemesis. The real worry is missing CL - mind games? Or setting himself up for failure?

Mind games from mancini, saying what he did in that press conference takes the pressure off us and slaps it back on the chasing pack.

Shrewd move from the italian maestro if you ask me.

Neither, he is just playing down expectations and stating the obvious in order to do so. The whole Club, Team and Squad are going for the title.. 100%

So, just personal terms and a medical to sort out. When that's sorted we may get some news on Ade.

Currently at Heathrow waiting for a plane to Madrid. Personally think that deal was done and dusted weeks ago subject to Dzeko signing on the dotted.

That would suggest that Jecko the gecko has already been fondling Cookies pens then. City aren't so daft as to let Ade go wandering off before the dirty has been done.

I've watched Dzeko a fair bit on TV but only really taken a casual interest in his Youtube clips. (for obvious reasons) In tv games, live & recorded, I've always thought he looked as if he could do with a yard more pace (not that he's slow, not at all) but looking at some recent Youtube stuff since wthe deal became a reality, sometimes he looks a fair bit quicker on there, than he has done when I've seen him live. Whether it's the youtube effect I don't know but it's certainly got me thinking.

Looks like we are going to find out for ourselves though doesn't it ;)

There was a poster from Bosnia further up the thread saying that his pace was just fine.. and not an issue.

He's definitely not slow but it's certainly looked an issue sometimes when I've seen him lose out in a 50/50 that you would expect to see Ade or Tevez for instance run away with the ball, but perhaps he was protecting a niggle, off balance or just plain couldn't be arsed. My biggest worry about him is that he's looked a bit disinterested on more than one occasion when I've watched him so perhaps the two things are linked. He needs to go balls out for City & get himself a goal early in his career.

Certainly on some Youtube stuff I've seen he sometimes looks to have the pace to take on & run away from defenders though.

I've got to be honest i've seen little of him...but what I can glean from a lot of websites is he's not particularly that fast...he just has good positional sense and uses it well to steal half a yard here and there

That's how it's always looked to me when I've seen him live but he deffo looks pretty sharp running at defenders on one or two recent Youtube clips I've seen. I didn't check but perhaps he was up against Gary Neville.

Maybe thats it, as you say doesn't look slow on some of the youtube stuff.

Anyway aside from the pace thing what he certainly is, is dangerous... with head and both feet. So in that sense he will have to be watched by defenders to try and stop him getting shots off.. another thing for oppositions to worry about if Carlos, Mario and Silva were not enough. You can see where the final piece in the jigsaw phrase comes from, with the ability to take the ball down and win long balls he is going to be a a bit of a dream come true for Tevez and Silva.
I can already see some teams opting for brown shorts v City later in the season.

I think he looks fucking good.
But no way worth £30ish million.

I'm excited to see what he can do though.

As well as the obvious plan B type football, I've always looked at the idea of an aerial centre forward at City with reference to Kendall's Everton team, when they'd be passing & passing the ball around a packed penalty area unable to break through, then Sheedy etc would just knock a little diagonal pass onto the head of Graeme Sharp, 1-0 & off they went. Coincidentally, we must have had 50 opportunities to do that v Everton recently but nobody to pass to.

I think his pace is just fine; what really impressed me of those youtube videos is his raw aerial power, he does seem implayable by the opposition in the air, and also his physical strength, it's very hard to move him away from the ball.

Undoubtedly another all round threat, and the option of a really decent plan B.. err and C for that matter. The point about everton is spot on and we will now have a completely different feather in our cap. From what i have seen he really attacks the ball to head it, which is something we desperately lack.

We have to give him time though and the team time too, we may go a little backwards as we attempt to accomodate him.. although something tells me he will be fine.
