To fair he has played a lot in the past week and a bit.

But yes, i agree, if there's one thing i'd like him to improve it would be stamina.

That said overall he is an immense player.

I love the guy to bits but he does look absolutely fucked every time he makes a run doesn't he? :)
In his defence though, he has hardly been getting any games at Barca and now he is playing every game or nearly every game in a much more demanding league (physically). Will need some more time to adjust I suppose.

To be fair to him, he carried the ball well in some tight areas last night and definately gave his all. He also isnt used to playing 4 games in 10 days either!

My one criticism is that when the balls in the air to win he needs to actually jump for it, and not just stand there hoping it will hit him on the noggin. For a guy his size he's crap in the air.

I agree with everything said, but if he runs the length of the pitch with the ball and gets too knackered to do anything with it, then he should fuckin stop doing it or at least stop half way.

He is 27,Not 107.

He trains every day there,or thereabouts to an elite footballer level,he has some of the best diet and medical equipment to hand, has specialist fitness coaches working with him, some of the best technical analysis and not too mention equipment and recovery in the world.
Despite a hectic run over xmas he should NOT be blowing out of his arse like he was last night. NO WAY.

I fully agree with this. I mean, he has preseason behind him and should be right at the age where his fitness peaks. I can understand that he has played loads of games and all that but so have everyone else.

I'm not a hater. Quite the opposite. I really like him. But our fitness coaches need to look into it.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Is he getting enough hydration does anybody know?

I have never seen him walking around with a bottle of water in his hand!

I think if he focused on improving his stamina then in the process he would lose some of the strength he has. His strength is IMMENSE and he makes other players look like children. Give him time to get used to the pace of the prem and soon enough he will gain in naturally.

I think we should bring back the vicks on the shirt.

You looked in better shape doing your jog around Harpurhey than he did last night. He remind me of a Sunday league player that had had a few too many the night before and was dying a death on the pitch! Maybe it's just his size but he did look unfit.

Ha ha that was running !!!!!!
I dont think its only his size there has been many a massive player in midfield, maybe the sit and pass to Messi/Iniesta/Xavi thing at Barca is catching up with him and when he sheds a bit more muscle/fat he will be able to cain 90 minutes or just maybe he isnt a naturally fit guy.

He wont lose strength by increasing his stamina - look at Micah. Even with our hectic schedule this time of year I agree he shouldn't be getting so tired after one or two of his surges from midfield. He looked like he was either carrying a virus or recovering from one to me, but who knows?

Does seem a bit strange that he seems to struggle so much after one of those runs. I wonder whether there is an underlying problem we don't know about. He has been training fully recently but there have been quite a few occasions when he hasnt been there going back to pre Xmas.

The plot thicken's. I fancy somethings wrong. Moreover its costing us cos he's going huge periods of the game where he's hiding and doing the minimum.Cost us our chances of catching them on the break last night.
