Dzeko tomorrow will not sign a contract.
This night he had to leave England coz he has problem with VISA (Bosnians can not enter without a visa to England)
Right now he is in Bonn (Germany) / consulate, and Friday morning will sign a contract. After that he needs a work permit, and he can not play in Sunday against Leicester (FA CUP) / late with the application...debut will be the next round in PL against Wolverhampton 15.01.2010.

Fuclin ludicrous - once again the Home Office trying to fucl us over - a European country with a recognised international player. This same player can walk into any other European country without so much as a glance at Customs

I think tonight has shown that we need cover for Silva if anything to be honest.

I wouldn't read too much into tonights game tbh. with only one recognisable decent striker and set up not to lose at all costs it isn't showing us much.
I sense that tonight may have been a bit a of a watershed in the run of things and that from here on in our problems in terms of lack of outlet will diminish and as a result our whole approach will get better... Silva or no Silva.

I don't see how he can enter the UK with a visa and then be required to leave the same day. There's something wrong with that story. It may be that his work permit ( which is a formality) hasn't come through so he's been given an extra day to wrap up things in Germany before he signs on Friday. As for the FA Cup I read that you need to register someone 7 days ahead which obviously rules him out. Also he apparently has a bit of flu so he might not be 100% by Sunday anyway.

i said it as well... we were missing Silva more tonight than a 6'4" striker. Altho tbh Jayko could have done something sweet for us tonight as well. He'll need some service, on the floor or in the air, and i didn't see either coming his way from what i recall from tonight's match.

Not sure who to beleave but i think he could be in Manchester.

At one point it is believed that Dzeko was stranded at Heathrow airport waiting for clearance to enter the country.
However, the 24-year-old finally reached Manchester last night while his prospective new team-mates were playing at Arsenal in the Barclays Premier League and underwent initial medical examinations last night.

Nice to see how much they appreciated him and I'm sure we'll be exactly the same.

I wonder what time it'll be on the OS?

Maybe he came in on a Visitor's Visa?

I find it ludicrous that somebody who has been offered a well paid job - and will be paying 50% of his huge salary into the UK economy - should have any problems whatsoever obtaining a visa!

It should be gold plated, diamond encrusted and delivered to him by David Cameron personally!

It's more than likely a mistake on his part. Since 6th December, Bosnians have been allowed to enter Schengen Zone countries (ie all of the EU, apart from Britain, Ireland, plus Switzerland and the oddball micro-states) without a Visa. Because it's such a recent thing, probably him and his advisors didn't realise that this doesn't include the UK until they rocked up at Heathrow.
