I don't know but Mancini is a very good manager and is doing well with us so i'll back his judgement 100%.
Perhaps, and I am only guessing, Jo works harder in training, shows the correct attitude to doing a shift for the team out of position on the left-hand side than Adebayor has ever done. I mean even when Adebayor has had his opportunities playing in his correct position he didn't put the effort, workrate and display the attitude - which for a player of his ability is unforgivable.
Also the fact that no other club wants to sign Jo maybe doesn't help! :) Could it be Mancini is trying to put him in the shop window. Is quite noticeable that Jo never starts at Eastlands - only away matches.

On that basis I'm pleased they've gone because no player, however talented, is more important than the team.

otherwise this is just silly and downright foolhardy in terms of leaving us short up front

Madrid great move for Adebayor says Mancini
Roberto Mancini believes Emmanuel Adebayor's loan move to Real Madrid is ideal for all parties, but especially for the player.
With the Togolese striker finding chances limited at City over the past few months, plus Edin Dzeko arriving during the January transfer window, the offer to move to the Bernabéu was too good to turn down.
"This is a big chance for him and I hope
he can do well."
"He will be with Real Madrid for the next five months and I hope he plays often and scores a lot of goals.
"La Liga is a very good league to play in and I'm sure he will enjoy his time in Spain and playing alongside players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka."
Madrid have an option to purchase the former Arsenal striker, who scored 19 goals in 36 league and cup starts for the Blues, at the end of the loan deal.
Adebayor's last goal for City came in the Europa League away to Lech Poznan last November and he is likely to make his debut this Sunday against Osasuna after passing his medical with flying colours.
