just heard this1619: Interesting, very interesting. Apparently the odds on Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam joining Manchester United have plummeted in the last few minutes. He is now 1/4 to go there and only 5/2 to join long-term suitors Liverpool. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said last week of course that Adam is "worth £10m for his corners alone". Watch this space.

We were unlucky at the timing of the injury to AJ but really you want more than one game changing option on the bench. I wonder whether Mancini wanted an extra quality buy this window and was blocked by Cooke and Marwood or whether there was general agreement between the three. Of course the Club have given Mancini fantastic backing so it's unreasonable to grumble but the next few weeks are so important to City's future and at 11pm it's 'rien ne va plus'.
Elano and Robinho would look very nice tucked into that bench right about now. Just sayin.
cheers

The fact that you would even think Elano and Robinho would "add" anything to our bench shows a complete failure to grasp the issues of team spirit, the willingness of Elano and Robinho to sit on the bench, and indeed managing a squad in top level football.

yeah...im failing to grasp that we have no cover...and players like Elano, Robinho, Bellamy, etc would be nice to have around on the bench.
cheers

Even with Balo out, we had decent cover upfront with AJ as back up for Tevez, Silva and Dzeko. Of course AJ's injury was a huge set back with Balo still being out, but it happened so late in the window, that any replacement we could've gotten would have been a overpriced panic buy.
