It's one thing to get promoted but another thing to stay up. Most promoted teams do well at 1st because of the momentum based on the successful previous season. After a few defeats, it starts to wane. Momentum jus isn't enough to carry a team through that 1st Prem season and it is a long term slog to develop a squad that can truly compete. The likes of Pullis has done it by dodgy but reasonably successful tactics. The likes of Di Matteo have tried to do it by keeping true to the principles of football.

They back him to begin a long term strategy for the club and then don't give him the long term to do it....Madness
If most of us can work that out...what the fuck is wrong with owners? Why can't they?

definitely don't agree with this, di matteo is a good young manager and he's doing extremely well with a poor WBA squad. Obviously if you are the boss you live and die on the performances of your team ... but I don't believe (bar a couple of results) that the owners can truly believe that the squad they have should be doing much better than they are.

others have said it ... we're supposed to be the ones ruining the game right?

I'd like to see what WBA supporters think about this.

Dreadful, disgraceful decision. Basically fucking off their future planning for the hope of a quick fix & more PL money. They should have just taken relegation, if that's what it came to, & come back stronger next time, still playing football.I suppose the spectre of that fat, gum chewing, neanderthal, cunt, Allardyce is now looming again. Ffs.
