The FA had the option of banning Ranger who plays for Newcastle because he pulled out of international U20 duty this weekend.
According to the mirror, the reason they didn't was because they realised they would have to ban Smalling from playing too for pulling out of under 21 duty.

Fucking corrupt bastard FA cunts changing the rules for the munichs again.

quote :
They were ready to make an example of Newcastle striker Nile Ranger this weekend after he pulled out of Wednesday's England Under-20 match against France without first being checked over by FA medical staff.

Ranger was to be banned from playing against Blackburn tomorrow, but they were forced to postpone the action when they realised Manchester United defender Chris Smalling had been allowed to cry off Under-21 duty without reporting to England.

Chris Smalling is actually Gelson Fernandes in disguise, working undercover for us. I think him playing favours us

If I'm honest, I'm not really bothered. We're not in the Title race, Fergie, Nani and the Felcher said so

If we win, and if we are the perceived to be in the title race by "the pundits", the road will be agonisingly long and hard for the remainder of the season. I usually only watch that lot or pay attention twice a season. if we win it then means I have to pay a passing interest in the scum for three whole months...I don't know if I can do it.

I was chosen to be a blue...and no matter what the result tomorrow, no matter how many white horses, I will still be a blue until the day I finally fall.

Been preoccupied with an assignment all week, handed it in a couple of hours ago and my stomach has turned to soup. Going to get twatted tonight and then hair of the dog tomorrow morning!

I'll be very disappointed if we play for a 0-0. The way to beat them is to attack them. If we defend for 90 minutes it shows that we're scared of them.

I don't think it shows were scared and i think it shows that Mancini feels we can't afford to loose to them. Stop them getting 3 points and getting further ahead. I know it's seen as negative but I do see where he is coming from. It's not pretty but i would rather not loose if I'm being honest.

If its drab 0-0 I will take that at this moment in time in our squads development. I'm not sure we are quite ready yet in going head to head with them. I would love us to smash them but can't see it.

I would accept a boring 0-0 too; as long as we don't lose I'll accept anything. But I don't agree we aren't prepared to go head to ehad with them. I feel we are more than prepared to do so, and if we do we will probably win with the players at our disposal.

I worry that if were loosing we will find it hard to change the way we set up due to a lack of width in our squad at this time.I think at times we lack a plan B. We could sling Edin up top for instance but who is going to cross for him. I think with United you can actually see them up a gear and change system at will, with us i don't see that at present. The Villa and Brum games spring to mind.

What you say is true; our problem is to break down teams who park the bus either from the start or after they have gone one up; but I don't think United would resort to that, especially at home and after a loss to Wolves; they will want to up the morale with a big win so if they score one first they will try to come for more; that suits us as we can keep playing as we know and will probably equalise.

Besides, the solution is easy, don't let them score first and the problem is solved ;)

WHY NOT?
This is the negative attitude which I don't like. We can win there tomorrow! We have the players and the team to go and pick up 3 points. FFS we beat them there when Benjani and Vassel were our 'strikers'. This is the weakest United team in years and the strongest city team.

It's all about mentality. If we go there tomorrow and press them, get right in their faces, have a go and go head to head we can win.

IT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO WIN THAN NOT TO LOSE.
If we win we're right back in it, a win essentially gives us worth 6 points.

Really. Is that why yet again they are pissing the league without getting out on 2nd gear. I agree that this is the strongest team I have ever seen at City but we are not yet there. We see glimpses of it but not on a consistent basis..... yet. In time I will expect City to go there and have a go just not yet as there are inadequate parts of our game that Manchester United will exploit if we go at them.

I truly hope that I am wrong I really really do and that you can come back on here tomorrow and say, I told you so.

Still a negative mentality. Yes it is honestly a weak a United team as I can remember.
They're 4 points above Arsenal, hardly pissing the league. They still have to play Chelsea twice, Arsenal and Liverpool away and us.
Why not go for it? Just because we are not as good as them? Wolves attacked United, really went for it and they won. I'll be furious if we set up to draw. It shows a weak mentality and a lack of belief.

This is the time for Mancini to show that the players he bought and inherited are good enough. I would expect the Sheikh to be thinking the same, given the amazing investment he has made. I have no fear of the rags at all, none whatsoever, I see nothing there to scare us. I was confident last year, more so this; it is our time. I just hope Mancini sets up to have a go and out players rise to it. If they do, we will win, we have better players. End of.

If he plays Boateng...lol.

I don’t have a negative mentality about anything in life apart from City, maybe it’s just what I have grown accustomed to over the years and it will take some time for me to change. I think City have to win me over with a good run of consistency and actually winning something. At this moment in time I don’t quite believe. John68 will hate me for this but "typical City " is alive and well in my head. I pray to the football god’s tomorrow that they go some why to helping me get over this negative attitude!

I love City so much and they are huge part of my life but god they dont half let me down and break my heart.
