Ticketing policy

Postby Blue2 » Tue Mar 01, 2011 9:40 am

Wanted two tickets for Colin Bell stand for Villa game, but online they are only showing North & East stand availability. So I phoned up and was told that there were plenty available in CB , but only for phone bookings or personal visit to stadium. I was told that this was improve the atmosphere by selling those blocks only online !!!!!!!!!! In other words they wanted the ground to look full for the TV cameras. The girl said she could transfer me through to get tickets for CB. When I asked if they would waive the booking fee I was told that they wouldn't. Great customer service eh? Really pissed me of this.

I wasnt there on Sunday, but there was the obvious segregation issue in the South Stand, and it would also appear corporate members getting first say on away tickets ahead of those with 5500+ points. What has evolved at the club since 2007 & 2008 is absolutely fantastic...however City...please don't alienate the supporters who've been there through thick and thin.

Sounds like we can expect another huge FA Cup fever style turnout tomorrow. Maybe 28k with 5k of them Villa fans, and an atmosphere that will be sleep inducing. I cant wait.

i think we might get a decent atmosphere tomorrow, the villa fans were fun last time. They got involved with the poznan and were singing "lets pretend we scored a goal" when they were getting twatted then started singing 3-0 and you fucked it up.

So if they bring a few fans then it could be a fun atmosphere even if it does go quiet a few times.

Villa have sold just over 2000 tickets and they will be able to buy on the night.
North stand level 1 is more then half empty.
i reckon 25-27000

Just been down to get tickets for CB stand and at first they refused to sell me tickets for that stand ( despite me being told last night that I could get them in there by phone or visit to the stadium) as the girl had ben instructed to sell North stand tickets only. So I refused to buy in there and told her I wanted tickets for CB 121. I asked the girl ( who was very good and polite btw) to ask her supervisor. She checked my purchase history and then went to speak to somone. She came back and said I could buy tickets where I wanted and when she turned the screen round there were loads of them available. Tickets sales obviously not going well and they wantyed to sell in the areas where they were most visible on the TV.

Piss poor to treat fans like this imo.

whilst I agree in principle, what is a joke is that our fans (despite attractive ticketing prices) lack of support means that the club even have to consider this action. During the Leicester game I spent a lot of time just gazing in disappointment at the massive number of empty seats. Maybe we are not the quality of support that we have always liked to think?

I agree - did not mean to trivialise the cost to people - just I am genuinely surprised that we are struggling to get numbers in when prices are so cheap - surprised is a better way to describe it rather than anything harsher

It's so simple, open up the first two tiers to everyone, both online, over the phone or in person. Once these seats start to become single then open the third tiers.

Cannot imagine how this is so hard?

for the county game, I left it till the day before to try and buy online. Wouldn't let me have my seats in the family stand, so looked in east and there weren't a lot of decent seats left for a group of 3. Own fault for leaving it late. Get to game to find loads of spaces, that clearly weren't available online.

It definitely needs sorting, as does selling a spare. With seats in the family stand, we often have spares, especially for night games. I'd be happy for the club to sell the spare, even if I didn't get anything back, but there's no obvious way to do it. If we become successful and the attendances inevitably rise, that can't carry on.
