Didn't our doc leave in mysterious circumstances a couple of weeks ago. Did someone drop a massive bollock??
Or am I just reading to much into it?

Didn't we recently lose a member of the backroom staff? Are the two linked?... Just asking a question.

*apologies Tony... Just seen your post

The Telegraph says the Club were told on Wednesday afternoon so I don't think the dismissal was related to the Kolo affair. Having read several papers the general consensus is that he took a dietary supplement without telling the Club's medical staff. Even if it's a stupid mistake the legal process takes time and I'd be surprised if he plays for the club again this season. I'm concerned about the effect this could have on Yaya.

The Hamilton player, Simon Mensing, did contact his clubs medical team, and tried to confirm with UK anti-doping that the dietary supplement he was about to take did not contain a banned substance. Unfortunately for him it did. He served a one month ban. In reality there is so many things on the banned list that any new supplement will probably contain something that's banned.

I don't think that being a knob is allowed as an excuse in these circumstances, so even if it is just a dietary supplement, I doubt we'll see him again this season & if he's gone against club rules by knowingly taking the risk of sneaking said supplement into his diet, we may not see him again full stop.

And they say any publicity is good publicity. Not in this case.
Anyone know what it is yet, or whether the B sample is positive?

This really is shit news. I'm putting my scold on pause til I know what's going on with this though, don't want to jump to conculsions..

General rubbishness all round, and the doctor thing, 'leaving' the week before, makes it a story and a half whether it's connected or not.

Stinks.

Interested to hear about the B sample.

Warfarin seems an odd drug for him to being taken without clearance - it has an incredibly dynamic INR, a *huge* list of dietary/supplementary/pharmacokinetic interactions and a narrow window before it's shows toxicity. Someone at the club must have been watching over that so I don't know how it could've slipped through the gaps like this.

Didn't Kolo have malaria at one point?
Only just started my cardiac/haem rotation but away from the med stuff, I don't get why it's gotten to this point.

Oh for fucks sake. When will we stop shooting ourselves in the foot.

Have to say that I was somewhat suspect how he so rapidly improved this season after couple of awfull years for us and Arsenal.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
