You missed off the ref.

And you missed lack of leadership. Mancini couldn't lead a thirty horse to a watering hole.

I was only listing non-valid excuses in my list :-p

How do you lead 30 horses though? Sounds a task.

I've been watching football for over 45 years now and I've never seen a bunch of alleged footballers, Argentina 1966 included, dive as much in one game as that bunch of Kiev conmen.
Which isn't to excuse our limp-wristed performance, Micah Richards apart.

The referee was a disgrace, but, funnily enough, when he finally cottoned on to their diving, you could see two Kiev dives within 10 seconds of each other which he ignored, and the commentator wondering was he played an advantage.

One of our players challenge for the ball, and win it; they fall over.

At least we won't have a 'homer' referee at COMS.

The only problem is, we're at Chelsea three days later!

All is not lost fellow blues. Kiev have played 6 times in England. Their BEST result is a 2-0 loss. They have never scored on English soil.

Still, it does have a Hamburg feel about it . Anyways, buck up lads, it's only half time.

To blame the referee is a joke..
We where totally shit, no game plan, passing back and forth when we have the ball, mostly backwards of course.
A shame that we are not better than this and Dzeko today...omfg

The problem lies with our slow, one dimensional, unbalanced and uncreative midfield. It is the reason we may miss out on the top four.

Yaya and Barry should never again play in the same team - neither have the energy, tempo or aggression to sufficiently influence the team.

Last time we played against Arsenal in London in the Champions League in 2008 and we lost 1-0 conceding on the 87th minute, Bendtner received the ball with his hand and scored (video).

How many times did your players dive tonight DK 1, when one of our players breathed on them?

Agree with this - they are both stop and start players..no momentum at all going forward.

I don't want to argue that, I see your point. But this is Europe, not the English Premiership where you have a rougher style of play. I don't say it's bad or good, it's just different. I cannot imagine what would you say if you played against Roma for example, their simulation performance is beyond the reality.

Well, it's not over yet. We took a big step forward today but their will the second match which will decide who goes through.

I thought Northern European teams were able to handle the physical stuff?
Any time Micah Richards went near one of your players they tumbled over.
Pable Zabaleta, also; you could see how frustrated he was with the right sided linesman in the second half; I thought he was going to get booked.
Sheva an honourable exception, though; he was like a giant among pygmies.
Still got the intelligence.
