Training Saturday 9/4

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Sat Apr 09, 2011 11:36 am

It's cricket season and weather to fit.Roadworks directly outside the Carrington complex today as apparently work is being carried out on close by electricity pylons. It was mentioned to me that one of the workers was thinking of putting a scum flag at the top of the pylon.Leave him up there with it if he tries I would say.

2 players out when I arrived just working on getting back to fitness,Razak and Benali.Slowly but surely the rest came out and it was all behind fences today.19 players in the group(including MJ) and the missing 2 were Boateng and Vieira. Joe Hart out again and working well but I got the feeling the lower back was still a slight issue.Boyata back in full training today.

A little bit of time as a group working on shape again and then into a series of warm up routines before a football game of 10 a side across the regular pitch.Quite a strong game as well considering the heat and the gentle stuff that preceeded it.Some one who had come to watch but couldnt see anything commented that they seemed to be having a go at Nigel, just from the shouting he could hear.He was right too and as he spoke Yaya was having words. Typical of NDJ to be at the centre of things.

Milner starred early on scoring 2 very good goals but they were cancelled out by Silva and a right footer from Jo.McGivern was having a good game with some good tackles and blocks and when it came to golden goal time it was SWP( not for the first time) who found the corner with a low shot from an angle. Hopefully Silva and Milner will not be bothered by knocks they got.Milner kicking the bottom of someone's boot.

Drinks followed the game and ,as I was leaving ( cricket calling) it looked like they were going to do some work on corners.Micah was out again working with a physio and definitely upping the work from what I saw on Thursday.Vieira also out late on for his first outside work I have seen since last weekend.

According to the OS Yes, but I too was hoping to see his name in Dougs' report just to remove the nagging doubt

I'd wager that the Tevez n Mancini thing is that the two of them wont be at the same club come August 2011. Id be amazed if Tevez is here next season. After the transfer request and then sudden withdrawl, it seems blindingly obvious he agreed to play on abd be allowed to go in the summer.

Come on, let slip! I reckon it's that they've made up and decided to have kids. Do you reckon they're going to name the first one Roberto Carlos?
