MANCINI OUT

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Mancini is a very nice person and I've had a lot of patience with him, but this was unacceptable. If we're going to lose, at least show some fight. What we saw was a pitiful attempt to play this game. A manager should give the players belief that anything is possible. Too often is seems that Mancini is limiting the players belief in the name of being cautious.

I say let Mancini gracefully resign and have Mick McCarthy or Martin O'Neill take over. It helps to have a manager who is native to the country that he is coaching in. Then he understands the tradition and actually cares about the team.

Our fans obviously have pride in City (could hear them all 2nd half), but where is the pride from the players and coaches? We need someone going red in the face in their talk before the game. Fire up the players instead of this shit. We looked like we just came back from a sauna and were ready to go to bed.

if city ever got ranieri, honest to god i think id ball my eyes out.

I've had enough of him at Roma so I agree with you. He did get two points from the title last season, mind you...but the football was never pretty and this season was a disaster, if Roma will miss the CL next season it will be his fault.

I like Mancini and I say its ok to have the odd bad day.. but its only ok if 90% of the other time you are looking convincing. I dont care if Mancini gets us top 4 and an FA Cup, I really dont. I dont like where hes going with this team. I dont like the style, the tactics the decisions and the cautiousness, infact a cautiousness that doesnt even particularly work.
I didn't mind Hughes, however I know he will never be a consistant top 4 manager so at the time I trusted the boards decision to change and appoint Mancini and to be fair at the end of last season I thought it seemed the right one. I figured Mancini was making the best of the situation until the close season.
This season SOMEHOW we have managed to currently be top 4 and in an FA cup semi.

The only reason we are currently top 4 and in the semi is basically because all the other teams have performed below par. They have not spent the money we have and they have not made any excuses for having 'too many games'. I dont buy all that bollocks about us playing too many games at all. No chance.

Like I said, I like Mancini. As a person he seems like a lovely bloke but for me this isnt what Manchester City are about and I dont want us to be playing this game next season and the season after that.

Who do we get?

Pep Guardiola
Jose Mourinho

At all costs.

I ACTUALLY WANTED HIM SACKED MONTHS AGO....BUT NOW WILL DO AS WELL.

ANYONE THAT DOESN'T WANT HIM SACKED NOW NEEDS TO YANK OFF THEIR PRIVATE PARTS AND SMACK THEMSELVES ROUND THE HEAD WITH IT.

HES FUCKIGN INEPT MATE...WHY CANT YOU SEE IT?????????

I keep getting distracted by the fact we have been in the top 4 all season and will be playing in our first FA Cup semi-final for 30 years this weekend.

It's not just about results.
if that's the case why bother watching matches?
It's about entertainment, when we go I want to see us attack, attack, attack with passion. This cautious shit is dreadful and boring to watch. Yes we are in top 4 but so we should be with the money we've spent. Doesn't mean the football isn't dire.

Agree. He spent a lot of money at Villa and then jumped ship when he felt he had taken the team as far as he could. He is good at turning mediocre clubs into top 6 clubs but I don't think he is the man to deliver premiership league titles or champions league success.

As for Mancini - I haven't been a fan of his since he took over. His negative tactics have failed to win me over, especially against the top teams and the way he instructed the team to play in the eastlands derby in February was the final straw for me. For a team that started the season as title contenders we have put in some half-arsed, spineless and frankly embarassing performances on occasion (Un**ed at home and Arsenal and Chelsea away). On the whole the football this season has not been entertaining enough and his signings, Silva apart, have left me scratching my head. He has done nothing in his tenure so far to justify the sacking of Mark Hughes (although I wasn't a fan of Hughes either at least we played exciting, attacking football under him). Sorry Mancini but I hope you are gone come the summer

When I heard he had made three changes for tonight's game I shuddered.
But when I heard Silva and De Jong had been 'rested' and that donkey Dzeko was starting instead of Balotelli, smoke started to come out my ears.
Why does he need to rest any player now that he's had his wish and we're only playing one game per week?

I didn't watch any of it because once I heard the first 15 minutes of FiveLive's commentary I knew our goose was cooked.
Dropping De Jong for Barry was probably the key blunder
But it sounded like Boyata had a shocker.

This wasn't just bad tactics on Mancini's part, it was rank stupidity

Naturally Burley was luhving it!

There are only three more opportunities to improve on last season's results, Everton (A), Tottenham (H), Bolton (A).

Grim reading.

If we exactly match our results in those and our other remaining games, and Spurs do the same in theirs, we'll finish above them on goal difference. They took 10 points from home games against Arsenal, Bolton, Portsmouth (Blackpool) and Hull (West Brom) then 3 from away games against Chelsea, Liverpool and us.

For us the point is that Mancini has spent vast amounts of money that come the end of the season means for us to finish 4th we're relying on Spurs being worse than last year rather than us being any better. There are excuses - (is the league more competitive generally this year, are the players bought young / will take a while to come good?) - but there's no obvious signs of progress right now.

Firstly to answer KK from page 2/3. I don't think many people are suggesting that Mancini is dismissed now, prior to Saturday. I'm certainly not saying that as there is no point and a lot (more) to lose.

What I am saying though is that last night was certainly sufficient justification for the owners and board to put wheels in motion to replace him, just like they did to his predecessor.

I have seen not much to convince me that he's taking us anywhere special and lots to convince me that he's taking us nowhere far. Yes we are sat fourth and yes we are in the semi-final of the FA Cup but we are in both positions almost by default. The top 3 above us and the teams around us have all had a season which has been a comedy of errors. Sure we've turned in some good performances but there have been more slip ups and surprise results than I can ever recall having seen before in a season. We've got a bloody good squad of players....any other manager worth his salt would back himself to have easily managed what Mancini has this season. The FA Cup....well, we had a benign draw to say the least...and still made bloody hard work of it.

My hesitations to getting rid are mainly that if we don't get CL then changing manager will undoubtedly be another year of fucking transition. More players out at big losses, a bigger hill to climb for FFP.

The thing that fucking annoys me so much is the fact that we have these players who have been the dogs elsewhere....Kolarov, Milner, Dzeko, Balotelli, Adebayor etc etc and we seem to be capable of consistently turning them to shit.

Why can't we have a fucking Suarez experience, some fucking Chicarito luck.....we're not even taking a punt on these cunts, they are "sure things" and none of them can make much of anything like a semi-immediate impact to improve us.

Honestly I'm sick of it and sick of fucking City today. I've seen this movie far too many times.

that's the thing that's killing me...Ade, Bellamy are turned out...Dzeko, Kuntarov, Boatongue, Milnil brought in and do pretty much fuck all of nothing...and then Tevez wants away.

where the fuck is the manager who knows how to get shit from a fantastic player, cuz God knows our roster is chock full of some folks that ought to be capable of tearing up some shit. Dunno why we haven't bought another creative mid so that SIlva could have been rested for Saturday, but we just fuclin haven't. I'm bored of this, and really want to see steady progression instead of shitting it every week with the odd surprise win to buoy my spirits, and the rest of the time being frustrated by either team selection or formation, both of which have led to more problems than we deserve imho.

cheers

Well this is a real low - even for a 40+ years fan....

Waking up in my hotel this morning - which turned out to be in Toxteth FFS!!! Nearest I could get on short notice - local pubs after the game were dog rough

That after flying back from holiday to Heathrow late on Sunday and driving up to scouse land yesterday on a day when we are on TV - this morning is one of the few times I have actually ever felt "....why the fuck do I do this???..." - fuck all sympathy from the wife (she is from Kent and has given up trying to understand me/CITY)

The CITY fans were great last night - but the team gave fuck all to us

I have read Boyata had a mare?? - no there were far worst - particularly Kolorov who to make up for being a shit defender needs to make up for it by being special going forward - but he seems to lack 2 yards of pace. Barry being back seemed to set us back createively again..

Need to go and find some enthusiasm from somewhere - but given that I think the scum are a shit team that have got away with it all season and that after last night I cannot see us getting anything out of the semi - says a lot about us

I am big on stability and do not want Mancicni sacked - but just what the fuck was wrong last night???? there must be issues behind the scenes to explain that gutless performance

Post of the year mate.
Am fucking fed up of explaining to me boy Vinnie why we have all these "top" players and yet they are a bunch of cunts in a city shirt
I'll "have discussions" with fans of other teams and defend city to the hilt - but am unable to lie to my son and make excuses for such rubbish performances.
