I'm not advocating getting rid of Mancini at all as we're on the verge of having a fantastic season. But if we ever were in the market for a new manager, I would definitely have Mourinho here. He's a winner and I want City to win. Simple.

Entirely this.

Barca were a lot more embarrassing last night too imo.

With all the supposedly great names (big money signings) in his squad he managed to produce a performance where his team - the HOME TEAM - managed only 29% possession of the ball. And the red card had no part to play in that, it was just as bad, if not worse, in the first half.

Fuck that!

What are you on about? Name me a football competition where you win trophies by having more possession than the other team. Possession is worthless.

Barca cheated their way to getting players carded/ sent off, this is the most embarrassing tactic off all.

Look up Mourinho's trophy history, his win percentages, his consistency at each club he's been to.

If you admit don't want City to win trophies only then will I understand why you wouldn't want Mourinho as our manager.

Yeah I admit I want City to win fuck all ..........

Don't be fucking ridiculous.
Mourinho is almost institutionally defence minded. More than happy to win every game 1-0 and bore everyone to death doing it.
He's also a one man travelling circus who thinks he's bigger than any and every club he manages.

If that's truly what you want when you could have so much more, then fine - but don't come taking me to task because I disagree.

Can not think of a better way to articulate my view so I will just endorse yours

Yes, to the best team in the world - possibly the greatest of all time

Not this greatest team of all time nonsense again... The past 3 games that I've seen them play show nothing that proves they are even the best team of the past 10 years. You are talking absolute shit

Are they, or are they not, the best team in the world today? I did of course say only "possibly" of all time but I stand by that.

They have played Madrid in 3 pretty dour games recently as Jose has amended his approach to the games - he thought he could take them on toe to toe last year, and what resulted was one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen. Yet you want to base your view on the Barcelona team on 3 games against a manager who is only interested in dragging Barca down to their level because he knows he can't beat them any way.

That 1st Madrid performance has been repeated again and again, United in CL final, Arsenal this season off the top of my head. If the rags want any chance of beating Barca, Fergie will have no choice but to adopt Mourinho's approach, as you cannot play football against them.

Didn't Arsenal play the game in the 1st leg and beat them to boot?

Arsenal are the only team I have seen who have managed to not cave in to the pressure Barca exert when not in posession. They are the only club capable of moving the ball quickly and precisely enough to get away with that.......although the epic fail in the 2nd leg would suggest they struck lucky at the Emirates.

That's where I disagree mate, certainly Barca had loads of possession and were well on top, but where were they until vP was sent off?

You make it clear that Mourinho is defensively minded. Yet his side has also scored 80+ goals in the league with a goal difference of over +50.

If that's too defensive for you, what would you prefer to see instead?

I wouldn't try to use useful facts. There's no point in taking him to task because he disagrees!

I don't ever want Mourinho anywhere near City.

His results speak for themselves, there is no doubting his record.

However,

His teams are horrible to watch, cheating, harassing refs on a massive scale, diving, malicious systematic tackling trying to take opponents out of the game.

This is supposed to be the 'beautiful game', there is nothing beautiful about how Mourinho's sides conduct themselves.

Even Chelsea aren't as dispicable since he left.

I would be disgusted if he ever got the City job.

You're a fucking idiot.

"Don't take me to task" on an internet forum where people debate and disagree all the time. What's the point in being here then?

That was the bit I objected to and why I said "Don't take me to task".

If you could raise yourself up to the status of halfwit you'd be able to see that quite easily :-)
