If Tevez Plays in the F.A. Cup

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

There seems to be a lot of Tevez hate on here. I don't care about the baggage, he is without doubt the most effective player to pull on a City shirt for decades. Not the prettiest mind, but phenominal technique. I've enjoyed seeing this close up and live, and I hope he stays to see out his contract.

Can't see it though...

hope he's fit for the final and can be on the bench. We're then leading, so we can afford to leave him there and he doesn't get to play in the final at all.
As much as I want to win the cup, I really hope it's not by his goal - his actions since December shouldn't put him on a level in City folklore with the likes of Trautman or Young.

If he goes he goes. He's been sensational for the most part on the pitch. I don't think even his most ardent backers on here would have predicted how good he has been. its burial to lose the best player I've seen at City but did anyone expect him to be here for years?

When he goes I'll wish him well, wherever he ends up. It's that sly fucker Joorabchian who orchestrates most of his (frequent) transfers imo.

I don't give a two shits what they call us. And hardly worth calling anyone cunt, wouldn't you agree?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Tevez isn't a rag bastard, or a Hammers bastard or a City bastard or even an Argentinian bastard, he's a Kia Joorabchian bastard.

Kia will get a cut out of Tevez' move. If he stays he doesn't make anything & Tevez will then be too old to command a big fee. Kia wants him to go somewhere & Tevez isn't arsed where so long as he can play at a decent level & get well paid. He doesn't get on too well with Mancini so Kia has seen his opportunity.

Tevez is the ultimate professional; gives his all for his job, enjoys his work, takes home a big pay packet.

City have probably given him permission to talk to other clubs but those clubs will have to deal on City's terms. I recon City will refuse to give Kia one penny, so if any deal is to go through, the buying club will have to fork out a huge bribe for him too. Therefore it lends a lot of creedence to the rumours of Sneijder etc.

If we're not happy with the potential deals/players clubs offer, Tevez will still be here next season imo. If he is, he will give his all & do his job, then Kia will try again.

Re the coming games; we use Tevez as Bob sees fit, end of story.

you have it nailed on there, unfortunately for us as with West Ham and the Rags, Kia is the problem and he plays on the fact that Tevez obviously isn't intelligent enough to see what he does, shame really as his first season here he had the chance to make himself a legend at the club, I now find it hard to want to connect him and City unfortunately, think he's as good as gone in the summer and aslong as we get some quality as well as a big fee I think we should be happy enough

Great post.

Kia definitely controls him, no doubt about that. As for the rag bastard thing, well that was only mentioned for reaction which until the last few posts wasn't entertained... now that it has, I'd say being BOUGHT by City, having broken all kinds of scoring records and captaining the team, he is far more renowned in blue than he ever will be from his LOAN spell at the scum.

Also, he is HATED by United fans. However disappointed we may be IF he leaves, I can't see it being hate-filled after what he did here.

So far, he is the greatest City player I have ever seen in the flesh.

That counts for quite a lot as far as I'm concerned and I won't be calling him a cunt or bastard because he didn't stay.

First off, I want to say I love the guy. He is a hero to me and if he leaves city it won't taint his rep in my eyes. HOWEVER. part me actually wants him to leave. I believe since his injury we have played so much better as a team, and have been more excited watching us make chances from all over the park rather than have Tev just get his head down and run towards goal. We'll get more than we paid for him I think. And as for another striker, well I think between Mario, Dzecko and maybe Drogba (very get-able) we would be class.

He's not 12. If he can't work out what's best for himself and what makes him happy, then he's thicker than he looks. If he's happy at City then say that and get on with it. If not, clear off. He withdrew his transfer request but hasn't once said he wants to stay. Even Shrek grovelled. The guy's a self indulgent prick. Worse, his play has deteriorated since the request, which bothers me more than who he plays for next season.

He's quite clearly been carrying an injury for a long time. As he's showing now, he tries desperately to play whenever he can & has most likely played when he shouldn't. He'll be the same at Inter or Real Madrid, giving 100% in everything. A top pro. He's happy playing football, shagging young fit birds & getting paid loads of money & he does it to his absolute best. He's not a Utd fan or a City fan, he's probably a Boca Juniors fan & may end up there one day, rich, happy & shagging a young fit bird. Then he may also love the club he's playing for.

Great post Ted. I have tried to explain that to the vast majority of players, playing football is a job. We fans are emotionally attached to clubs and some players become fans too but it's ajob and to them, the clubs are their employers.

I was looking for some definitive info on the google regarding Brazilain youth and 3rd party ownership. Joorabchian's name was all over the subject...I never realised just how deep he is into all that or how powerful a mover and shaker he is in the World game.
Tevez is probably his star asset and he wants to maximise his earnings on him while he can.

Play him in the cup final. I don't care if he's off, fact is he's our best striker and will give us the most chance of beating Stoke.

Absolutely. If I hand in my notice at work to go and play for someone else, my employer is likely to offer a counter offer. Alternatively, they'll either expect me to work my notice or may let me leave early. Football is no different, apart from their notice period is usually 3 or 4 years instead of weeks or months, hence why the new employer has to compensate the club the player is trying to leave.

However, if my current employer found that I was spending every lunchtime surfing the internet looking for other jobs whilst my mum wandered round other employers telling anyone who'd listen that I was up for a move, as I didn't like my current boss, I'd expect them to be a bit annoyed, in fact they'd probably sack me. Granted, I'm not worth £50m to them, but the principle is the same.

I have no problem with Tevez going if that's what he wants. Some players can go on to be a hero at a club and have a deep relationship with it, regardless of where they came from - Summerbee, Bell, Rosler, Goater etc and I think the likes of Kompany could join that list. Tevez won't do that, but it's not a problem - he's just an employee.

As far as the final goes, which is where this started, if we need his services, then he plays some part. If we don't, I wouldn't let him anywhere near the pitch. If it had been one of the players above or similar who was about to leave/retire and we were 3-0 up with 5 minutes to go, I'd have let them onto the pitch for one last chance. Tevez doesn't deserve that, as it's strictly an employer/employee relationship.

If he's injured then the question is answered - he doesn't play. The only question is why we carried on playing him after Xmas.

Postby Original Dub » Sun May 08, 2011 10:41 am

I keep hearing how Tevez fell to shit after xmas, but that's bollox lads.

He hasn't been as sharp as he was before Jan, but he's hardly been shit! I was sat there on the 5th of Feb when he scored a hatrick on his birthday. He was on fucking fire.

And before anyone says two of those goals were penalties... it seems to be fine to have a wankfest over Mario's finest moment which was his hatrick that included two penalties, yet Tevez pulls that off when he's shit?

Ok so, I'll take a shit Tevez over an amazing Mario any day of the fucking week.

I'll say it again, nothing would make me happier than to hear that Tevez has signed an extended contract for another 5 years. Who cares that he doesn't love the club? Who cares that he or his adviser had a row with some suit upstairs? We have him here right now - one of the world's greatest strikers - and we as a club should do everything in our power (which is quite a lot I'd imagine being the the richest club in the world) to hang on to him.

I know we'll move on if he leaves and we'll eventually sign a world class striker, but we have one now.
