You could have ONE player from any time period in our current squad who would it be?.
Mine would be Zidane, imagine the link up with the likes of Ade, Robson and Tevez to name a few?
Brilliant.

Bellamy and Dickov - can you imagine that? The shortest-but-hardest strike force in football history!

Ali Benarbia when he was at his best as (twice?) French Footballer of the Year, three or four seasons before he came to City. Will never forget a game he played against Villa on Boxing Day, he came on as sub with 30 minutes to go and won man of the match. He made a goal (for M-V Foe I think it was), 2-1; next he started a brilliant move that he finished off himself, diving to meet Anelka's cross and head it into the net, then kept going and jumped into the crowd at the Platt Lane end. I've got the photo of supporters hugging him and others running down to join in.

If I were to think only about ex City players and consider the needs of this present team, like BobbyJ, I would also go for a young Ali Benarbia.
The guy had everything.

Alan Shearer, not what we need, but to have an English hero banging them in for fun alongside our current crop would be special. He was a god when I was growing up.
Tracking back is overrated.

I'd give my left arm to see Bell live in his prime and marshalling this team we have now.
Other than him, players that were in my time, I'd have Franco Baresi. Nothing got past that man and he could organise players around him like now other.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
