We give them a first choice of loan players (apparently Bellers, Neddy etc) and they have taken us up on Weiss.
If the deal is completed it will be for one season with the option of purchase at the end. City MAY help them a little with the wages, and there is still the possibility of another player being loaned to Espanyol.
Weiss said that he would have liked to stay in Glasgow, but then he had a chat with Bobby. Mancini basically said that the Scottish league is a load of shite and he would like him to play in Spain or Germany for a whole season before making a final decision on him.
Have fun, Vlad.

Something doesn't add up here. Mancini wouldn't be making any sort of decisions over him but Espanyol would. And they'd make exact opposite decisiont that would be best for us.
Fuck these "option to purchase in the end of loan" deals. Caicedo is not my favourite but we are already losing tons of money because of that option. And what's the point anyway? If he is shit they'll send the player back, if he is good they buy him for peanuts. Yeah, that sounds good.

I think there'll be a massive clearance sale from us to clear the decks of anyone not remotely involved with the first team, except youngsters who may just be useful. Roll up roll up for City's bargain summer sales.
After all, financially it doesn't matter what we write off from the past, so they probably want to draw a line under it.

There's one HUGE difference between Weiss and other players on the fringes of squad. He would count towards homegrown quota and if we don't plan going through season with 18 players (or something like that) then we need to keep some of those. Same reason we need to keep SWP.

It could be that they see players such as Gay Assulin & Abdul Razzak as replacements for the squad players as they will count as homegrown. If we sign a few more quality players then it's not so bad to have more kids involved alongside them.
If it's true that Bob has sent Weiss to Espanyol for the reasons stated, then either there is no option to buy or they have a player we want in return. He wouldn't let them have an option unless he's already decided on Weiss' future. It could be that they've agreed a fee, if we decide we want to sell.
