our players aren't in the box cuz there isn't anyone to kick the ball to them if they bust a gut actually getting into position.

i wouldn't waste time getting a boner in mixed company if i knew my best bet was solo sex either tbh.

we don't exactly flood people forward at the best of times, its tended to be give the ball to Tevez and try and keep up with him

SSN 'understand' that Nasri is on his way to Manchester, supposedly to talk to City. They expect United to come in though and offer something, probably 'doing a Berbatov'.

Keep him locked in a room until September

In true SSN style, they have now downgraded it from 'City being close to signing Nasri' to 'City are thought to be interested in Nasri', load of bollocks!

SSN understands that City have a significant interest in being close to making an approach to sign Nasri (best to cover all bases)

from skysports.com before they take it down:

Sky Sports sources understand Manchester City are closing in on a £20million swoop for Arsenal star Samir Nasri, while their deal for Gael Clichy is also nearly done.

The French midfielder has been heavily linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium this summer, with a host of top European clubs thought to be chasing his signature.

He has yet to put pen to paper on a new contract in North London, with his current terms set to expire next year.

Manchester United were previously tipped as frontrunners to secure Nasri's signature, but it seems big-spending local rivals City have now taken pole position in the race to sign him.

The Blues are also reportedly close to capturing Arsenal left-back Clichy, while Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas is expected to leave this summer, meaning manager Arsene Wenger could be left without several of his key players next season.

Impressive
France international Nasri enjoyed an impressive campaign last season, but could not help the Gunners end their trophy drought, which has stretched over six years.

The 24-year-old arrived at the Emirates from Marseille in 2008 and has since notched up over 80 appearances for Wenger's side.

Wenger is due to gather his first-team squad together next week ahead of a tour to Malaysia and China.

The Gunners boss continues to give little away as to which players will be part of the group when they jet off in 10 days time.

"We are in a waiting period, everybody is waiting that the other [club] moves," Wenger said in an interview with Alsace TV.

"Everybody has their cards in [their] hands, hoping for the big transfer.

"There is nothing moving yet. The period will me more active at the end of July when we will need to really strengthen the team."

SSN just interviewed a few blues outside coms. Piss funny. I think the reporter was expecting them to start cracking one off on the spot when he told them we were after Nasri but the response was lukewarm.

Lukewarm pretty much sums up my feelings on this. Nasri is a quality footballer but he drifts in and out of games and tends to go through log spells without delivering his best form. Not sure what role Bobby has earmarked for him but if it's the playmaker role at the head of a midfield three then I feel there are far better players out there. If he's earmarked him to play on either side of a front three then he's not got the pace I'd like to see in that role.

Won't be disappointed if we go after him and get him, nor will I be thrilled.

Quality player and certainly more interesting than Cerci, maybe in a motivated and strong team he will up his consistency

The meh squad outside Eastlands was quite funny

Silva hasn't got more pace than Nasri and he seems to pull it off on a regular basis

Nasri is fast.....not quite sure what CityGer is on about there. He'd certainly be our fastest attacking player if we signed him. Well, maybe that's Balo...but he's faster than Silva, Tevez, AJ etc.

Exactly. That's why I want someone with blistering pace playing in our front three as we don't currently have it and we have someone, in Silva, who does the Nasri role, but better.

As for David 'pulling it off on a regular basis' I couldn't possibly comment but what David does in his private life is no concern of mine, as long as he delivers on the field.

Id feel abit dirty if we signed him, don't know why.

I thought he'd only been there 1 season, but 2008, he'd be going into his 4th season at Arsenal then this coming season?? Can't remember him doing anything until last season.

I might be thinking of someone else.

Funny how none of the Bluemooners have hyped the Nasri and Clichy deals, if we have nearly signed clichy then you'd think the ITK's would have been all over it for the last week.

Agree with that.

Nasri would represent a big coup for us. He was magical at times for Arsenal last season, him and Silva linking up is a football fans wet dream.

With Nasri adding a creative edge to the mid, we should be aiming to have a go at the title next year.

Exciting times!

While I'd be happy to have him here like someone else pointed out, this is his first season of note! The other seasons he was nothing more than average. Even this season his form tailed off badly towards the end of the season.

Because Silva is a creator, he lies in the centre and makes chances for others.
Nasri is a winger, he's much more dynamic than SIlva, dribbles with the ball, faster and more lethal infront of goal. Both brilliant players but Silva is more of a playmaker whereas Nasri's a winger.
