Manchester City are planning a sensational £20million swoop for Arsenal star Samir Nasri.
Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini has turned his attention to Nasri after missing out on Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez, and is prepared to offer him a massive pay deal of £180,000 a week to persuade him to move to the north-west.
Arsene Wenger is desperate to keep the midfield ace at the Emirates, partcularly as it looks as though Cesc Fabregas is on his way to Barcelona.
But Nasri, who has just one year left on his current deal, is looking for a bumper pay packet to stay at the Emirates and the Gunners may be forced to cash in now rather than lose him for nothing next summer.
Manchester United are still monitoring the situation, but the 24-year old’s representatives have already held talks with City.
Meanwhile, over on BM, an ITK reckons Nasri has flown into Manchester on a private jet with his father and has been picked up by City. Apparently his source is the same bloke who told him Mancini was gonna replace Hughes

I could be wrong but from what I remember last season, he played in the centre when Fabregas was injured, and was class there, then Fabregas came back into the team and they pushed Nasri out wide and his season kind of petered out?

Nasri played in deep lying playmaker role where I remember him being used in the past as well. Nasri isn't really winger at all imo but he was used on the leftside of their midfield diamond alot. He can play across the midfield but personally I see his best position as traditional central midfield playmaker or even box-to-box midfielder.
For what it's worth, I'd like Nasri as he'd be improvement on Barry which is what I am looking for in this summer's transfer window.

Valeri Bojinov's agent has confirmed the Parma striker is in talks over a loan move to Sporting.
The Portuguese giants have made a move for the 25-year-old striker after he spent most of last season on the bench at Parma.
The Bulgaria international has attracted interest from several Europeans clubs this summer but it is believed Parma are only prepared to let him leave on loan rather than making a permanent transfer.
And although Sporting are leading the race for the former Lecce and Fiorentina forward, his agent insisted it is not yet a done deal.
"I can confirm Sporting are one of the sides who are very interested in Bojinov and are in negotiations for a possible transfer," Gennaro Palomba told A Bola newspaper.
"However, I am not yet certain he will go to Sporting, because there are other teams who are interested.
Malaga interest
"It's true that Malaga are tracking Bojinov, but also other top level European clubs.
"Sporting's interest has been noted for quite some time."
Bojinov returned to Italy on a permanent basis last summer after Manchester City loaned him to Parma for the 2009/10 season, during which he scored eight goals from 30 league appearances, although only 15 were starts.
But Bojinov saw even less action this term, starting just 13 of his 31 games and scoring three goals.
He would face even more competition at the Stadio Ennio Tardini next season too, with Parma having already boosted their squad with the likes of Fabio Borini, Graziano Pelle and Nicola Sansone this summer.
