i don't believe these jokers can get a deal done that's actually "real"...and not some bullshit "layaway" plan for Tevez..paid in installments over years with no sell-on and nothing up front, etc.

flash forward 3 days from now with Cookie telling the media that Corinthians "bottled it"

cheers

This...

I don't really believe that they can achieve this deal, but if they do, that's fine, we need to become a team, committed to the cause. Last year Carlos delivered so much all by himself, thank you. This year we need to destroy teams throughout the pitch - it's an opportunity for the men to stand up and get rid of the whinging spoilt brats

What are the rules on joint ownership over there? Is it still allowed? Might there be a situation where Kia buys him back from us and loans him out to Corinthians?

I doubt the FA would allow a player to be sold to anything other than a club. There might be some scummy underhanded way of interpreting 'club' though.

I'd be well happy if Tevez stays tbh. Forget all the stupid remarks, temper tantrums, moods, media circus etc etc. On the pitch he always gives 100% and lets be honest its on the pitch why we watch/go to the game, anything off it is an irrelevant sideshow for most supporters. I still think he'll go mind

It would be much better for Man City overall if he left. If he stays we are the unified (for the most part) Man City team + wantaway Tevez. Without him we are the unified (for the most part) Man City team. I think at this level the game is almost 80% mental, so the fewer distractions the better

1931: FOOTBALL - BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNulty has spoken to Carlos Tevez's representative Kia Joorabchian about his stalled move from Manchester City to Corinthians, who told him: "There is no agreement at the moment but we are working hard and we will see what happens. The deal has not been done and I don't want to say too much either way. To say I am optimistic would be just a guess but we are working hard."

I think we will be going for Aguero regardless of the Tevez situation. It's going to be a testing season on the squad when we have to play full strength in europe at all times and Mancini has previously stated he wants four quality strikers.

I certainly do not want Tevez to stay any longer but we have been pushed around far to often in the market and quite rightly we should be looking to complete this deal on our terms not Corinthians.

This looks like a clever move on city's part..... If it's all about the kids, should be no problem eh Carlos?

And, as a result, his £40m move to Brazilian club Corinthians is on the brink of collapse.

City are understood to want a clause in the deal that prevents Tevez moving back to Europe in the next two years – plus a cut of any fee if he moves after that period has expired.

The FA Cup winners are also refusing to pay up the signing-on fees due on the remaining three years of Tevez’s five-season contract because he asked for a move.

Corinthians and Tevez have just 24 hours to agree to the clauses before the transfer window in Brazil closes. City accept the Argentina international wants to return to South America to live with his wife and two young daughters.

But they want to guard against Tevez and agent Kia Joorabchian engineering a move back to Europe in the next two years at a higher price than they have agreed with Corinthians.

Even if Tevez agrees to the clauses, the deal is still some way from being agreed, with Corinthians responding angrily to City manager Roberto Mancini’s claim that a fee had been finalised.

They said: “President Andres Sanchez would like to clarify to the public that Manchester City did not accept the Corinthians offer for the player.

“The truth is that the club sent Corinthians a counter-proposal in the early hours, that due to the time difference was only noticed by the club this morning.

“In the counter-proposal the English club have asked for changes in the form of payment and on the value of the transfer.

“In addition, Manchester City has also insisted that Tevez would have to give up a pending amount with the English club.

“For the time being there does not exist anything concrete for Tevez and the counter-proposal will be analysed by him and his management.”

City deny they have changed the transfer value, and the ball is very much in Tevez’s court.

Yes - well done CITY (asuming that this is true) we have had to 'swallow' on a number of deals over the last couple of years but we have now reached the point where players will want to be part of things here (obviously apart from Tevez) - we need to change our image from a team that are desperate and can be mugged to one that is strong and will dictate terms

This is all very clever - if the Tevez focus is indeed all family driven then we are the white knight selling at less than his market value to help him be with his family. But if this is part of some Kia deception to get us to sell cheap and then move Carlos for more to another European club - then we have called the bluff

Which, of course, doesn't make sense given that the time in São Paulo is BST minus 4 hours. These clowns are full of shit. If Tevez goes there, he'll be there a year. Corinthians will then take a hit on him to the tune of about 8,000,000€ as he comes back to Europe, but this will have been covered by merchandise and advertising revenues over the previous season.

That said, I'd still get rid at 40 million quid. This whole thing is really getting on my tits now. The worst case scenario is him still being here and pulling his face in the same way that he did during his last 6 months at the Swamp.

Cheers Carlos, you've really helped bring us along, but I'd really appreciate it if you fucked off gracefully now.

MUEN reckons we're also going to fuck Scum right off and swap Tevez for Sneider, plus a few quid.

Tevez's £44m move in doubt as clock ticks for Corinthians to complete deal
By Sam Wallace

Carlos Tevez's transfer to Corinthians hung in the balance last night when the Brazilian club failed to provide the necessary banker's guarantee to Manchester City that underpins the £44m deal.

City sources say that the payment schedule has been agreed – four payments over four years with the first before the end of this year – and that the total figure of £40m and £4m in add-ons is acceptable to both parties. However, another 24 hours without any cast-iron evidence that Corinthians have the money are making the English club dubious the deal will be completed. The Brazilian transfer window also closes today.

City are in Canada on tour without Tevez, who played for Argentina in the Copa America this month, and want to get the deal done. They fear that the latest delay will mean that the saga of their captain's future will drag on once again. They accepted a fee from Corinthians lower than their £50m valuation of the player so that he could live closer to his family in Buenos Aires.

Without Tevez, City won their first tour game 2-1 against Vancouver Whitecaps in the early hours of yesterday morning with a winning goal from Shaun Wright-Phillips. Shay Given, the former City goalkeeper who joined Aston Villa this week, said that Tevez was not a "mercenary".

Given said: "I think it looks like he'll probably leave, but there's lots of negotiating to go. I don't think it's mercenary. You've got to respect his decision. He's got two young kids in Argentina and he sees them once every two months so it's very difficult for him.

"He is one of the best players in the world and people forget there's a human being behind that and he does have human feelings as well. I wish him well, he's been a great player for Man City and he'll be missed."
