really? i mean it's like saying Brad Pitt's next wife will be a movie star. Hardly a stretch to guess that City will sign Aguero, is it?

Still, OS + Shirt saying "Kun" on the back with that sporty new home collar is what will convince me.

Also, i don't think we're better with Tevez leaving and Aguero coming in...i believe we lose a bit, so all in all, while it's a "reasonable" thing we still won't be better than last season yet imho.

cheers

Doomy mate - I´m as sceptical as the next guy over ITK - but it does seem there are one or two plausible sources on forums which shall remain nameless. One guy even gave dates and times of medicals - bang on. Yes I won´t fully believe it until it´s on the OS but out of the tens of thousands of blues residing in and around M/c the law of averages says there´s bound to be someone with adjacent to reputable or kosher information. As for Tev , I seriously wouldn´t mind the two of them, at least for a season to see how it pans out and to give Kun a bit of time to adjust
Eagerly awaiting that OS splash home page!

Dates and times? Interesting... only I believe it was the wrong hospital and it was two days after numerous reports that City were to wrap up the final pieces of the Savic and Clichy deals.

Forget about "ITKs" they simply don't exist and why people feel the need to hop they do exist is beyond me. A select few in the City hierarchy know what's going on.... and they don't get excited and post Neil Diamond youtube videos on fucking Bluemoon.

Anyway, back to Aguero - like has been mentioned, we will most likely not be stronger without Tevez, even with Aguero... just looking at their stats from last season - Tevez has three times the amount of assists and almost TWICE the pass completion.... yet some would have you believe he's the more selfish of the two.... Hmmm...

He's called Sergio because his name is Sergio. He's called Kun because his nickname is Kun. Esky's information was correct. 'Kun' is a character from 'Naruto', a Japanese cartoon that goes out on Spanish TV. The main character is called 'Naruto Kun' and, supposedly, looks like Sergio Agüero.

[i]Kun Aguero is definitively heading for the Premier League. The Argetine plyer hoped up until the last moment for Real Madrid, but the whites said no to his last ‘offer’, which happened this last Wednesday. The Argie wanted to carry on playing in La Liga at all costs, and awaited a move from Florentino Perez, but finally the attempt was abandoned. Although Madrid WERE interested in Kun at the start of the summer, they haven’t wanted to fall out with Atletico and have opted not to go for the player. Lucky for Manchester City, who can give him an exit more than fitting.

Not sure why mate. They say things differently in Spanish. You have to draw a line between completely rewriting it and translating what it says (whilst in a rush!) How about:

".....City, a destination more than fitting a player of his status...."

I heard the cartoon thing but I thought it was his favourite character as a kid. But I probably heard that on Talkshite so I'm sure Alioune correct.

Kun is not a name.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_honorifics#Kun

Wikipedia tells a different story:

Agüero earned his nickname Kun when his grandparents noted his resemblance to Japanese anime character Kum Kum

Quite frankly, I don't see any resemblance to that Naruto character.

sorry i highlighted the bit i couldn't understand it didnt come through very clear though. I don't get why Real would be worried about upsetting athletico. real madrid are one team that certainly don't mind bullying and upsetting anyone to get what they want, would have thought if anything they would have relished the chance to wind up the neighbours they so often overshadow anyway???

No, it seems you're right after all.

Solía ver unos dibujos animados japoneses, en los que el protagonista se llamaba Kum Kum. Él se llevaba todo el tiempo saltando, jugando y gritando kun, por lo que se le quedó el nombre.

I think I just misremembered a conversation I had in a bar in Madrid, and got my anime references mixed up.

what i don't like about how this deal is progressing is how we're always about 48 hours away from "entering negotiations"...jesus fuck...spread her legs and stick it in...enough goddam romance people. We've been about to start negotiating for a week, since El Apache decided to fuck the whole country up with a penalty miss . Let's get it on if it's on. It's nearly fucking August.

What does Mancini have to do to get Marwood out of the sauna and into a negotiating room with some cunts?

it just makes me feel like the dodgy spanish twats at "los meringues" will step up last minute and do something.

as others have said...a tidy player, let's land him, but we still need some other additions to ensure the team is better than last year.

cheers

I'm sure we started negotiations started fucking ages ago. As it is, its the press that make up all this 'about to start negotiations' bollocks...cos most of them, like us, don't really know what's going on so they repeat stories every other day. Chill out. I'm sure they've done more than enquire for Aguero by now.

We've been on this for a few weeks imo, since Sanchez opted for Barca.

In previous seasons this would have left me nonplussed but imo the Aguero we are signing is a class above the Aguero from two seasons ago. He's matured as a player & now has the football nous to go with the talent, which is a bigger talent than Tevez.

Nobody can replace Tevez imo, he is unique but the more I think about this, the more I think we'll be better with Aguero.

With both however we would have been unstoppable.

Thankyou Barca for Signing Sanchez as I recon this deal wouldn't have happened without it.

hope yr right about us being better Ted, and, as Antti pointed out yesterday he's got 4 more years to develop to even reach Tevez's age, which is a lot of upside.

i think Sanchez could be dodging a bullet, but maybe im partially just sad that we missed out on him, and at a price point we surely would have met i'm guessing. Regardless we still need some midfield/winger activity to put some balls in. Balls in. Balls. In.

I suspect the report you're referring to was the one on bluemoon, where someone said there'd be a medical on Monday and on Tuesday for players at a BUPA hospital, but didn't know which players. The medicals happened when he said, albeit at a different private hospital. In that case, I'd say he had some info the majority of the rest of us didn't. If the next medical is held at the same hospital, there's a chance he might find out before it happens, however, he's not ITK enough to give an hourly update on the Aguero situation.

I think ITK is a poor term and leads to the abuse that constantly happens over there. I suspect a lot of people find out little bits as things happen, but the difficult is very few have the full picture. For instance, if you work in some house rental firm in Prestbury or at the Lowry, you can probably work out when City or the rags are about to sign someone, although you couldn't be for certain who or the exact date. Similarly, if you happen to be outside Carrington or the Etihad as a player arrives, you'll find out something as a one off. If people on there accepted the snippets for what they are, without constantly asking for an update and criticising anyone who can't give it, they might be able to piece the info together and work it out. Even if anyone on there considered to be 'ITK' is piecing together twitter and news articles to make sense, I fail to see the problem - it saves me having to trawl the nonsense for the useful stuff, who cares where someone gets the info.

In some ways in was better in the days before the internet when the first you know about a signing was when a player was pictured with a sheepskin wearing chairman.

Not sure Colonel but it is a constant theme in these stories. Although the fans hate each other the board members are probably all at the same high society functions etc!
