got to admit i'm feeling strange about this transfer spent years telling chelsea fans and city fans that he is far too lightweight for the premier league when it was just another transfer rumour, but now it looks like it will actually happen i've become very excited. just wish it would all get sorted quickly.

hes doing to them what tevez is doing to us(on a side note wouldnt be surprised if carlos didnt show up for training), remember that for when 2 years down the line he does it to us....

realistically, he's told them he's leaving. I doubt he's AWOL as they say. Clearly, the deal is in progress to come to us if we believe the media sauces and he's likely flying into Manc if those are true.

Although, sometimes you have to wonder about these things. Can you imagine being away from home for basically 6 weeks, and then not even flying back to Madrid to pick up your fave shoes or some CDs you forgot, etc or to have a meal at the joint you like to chow down on your shrimps, olives and chorizo at, etc? anyway, i digress.

Surely they'd have given him an extra week off following the Copayment America anyway?

isn't that what he's got right now? his week off ends today, so he apparently spent it in Argentina if we believe the news stories that he's still there of course. Anyone have a sauce to show where the little cartoon character is?

After the lack of goals during this US tour I really think we need this guy. Balo and Dzeko just aren't banging 'em in.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

I don't think it's an issue, you always are going to have low scoring games when you are rotating teams, trying new things and generally regaining fitness.

I have no worries on the state of things up front either, we have great strength in depth, Aguero will just be the icing on the cake for us.

i am a bit worried that if Tevez leaves, even with Aguero coming in, that Mario Balotelli will be our most experienced Premier League striker.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

I think it's the best pre-season we've ever had. Years of being hammered by Hearts, muddled by Macclesfield, stunned by Stockport, Shanghaied in China, stalemated in South Africa and trounced in Thailand. Bugger me we I think we even drew at Torpoint FFS.

It's a question of hours

It's a question of hours. The Kun summer soap opera has already entered the final strait. El City and Atlético de Madrid, who have maintained various contacts in the last few hours, have arrived at total agreement for the transfer of the Argentinian to the English team. The basic deal is that they have agreed on the clause (€45M).

Now it only requires for the deal to be sealed (signed): Atlético expect to do it before Wednesday, the date when the player should have returned to training, after a special leave of 3 days which was conceded to him to allow exit negotiations. Yesterday, as was predicted, Kun did not attend work.

That the affair is near to it's end was shown by the latest pronunciation of Mancini, who last night showed himself to be convinced that the Argentine would be a 'Citizen' very shortly. "It's a matter which will be resolved very shortly, perhaps in the next few days. I haven't spoken to anyone about it (lately), but I believe that is the case", explained the Italian coach about the signing of the Argentinian international.

What is clear is that the solution cant wait any longer. The "Kun case" went past the point of no return a few days ago, and it needs to be resolved asap for the good of all parties.

It is a question of hours

Bonkers to think that we might be about to clinch this.....I don't feel blase about it as Aguero is class but I have been pretty confident that we'd close this for some time. How times have changed?!!

Manchester City were last night close to sealing a £38m deal for Sergio Aguero with the Atletico Madrid striker now expected to fly straight from Buenos Aires to Manchester to sign in the next few days.

The 23-year-old has stayed in Argentina since his team’s elimination from the Copa America tournament ten days ago. The City chairman Khaldoon Al-Muabarak was thought to be in Madrid yesterday to complete negotiations for Aguero, seen as the long-term replacement for Carlos Tevez.

City are in Ireland over the weekend to play friendlies against an Irish XI on Saturday and Internazionale the following day. They hope to have Aguero in place by then. Tevez is not expected to be back in training until the end of next week.

There's fights direct from Buenos Aires and no one told Carlos? Well that could have solved a lot of hassle...
