I thought we were dreadful pretty much the whole game. Worst I have seen City for a while. There were some shocking displays, just awful ones.

Poor performance.

Most worrying thing for me was when comparing each side in the attacking third. They looked twice as quick and had seemed to have far more vision.

Early days but I do hope Bobby gets the creative midfielder and the winger he wants.

It is, definitely, a pre-season game. That said, we were still dire. Lots of improvement needed. We'll be fine, I'm sure, but they were cack today, end of.

According to Tyler it was a pre-season game when we were two up, now is a sensational comeback for the record books.

And why no Kun?

Well now our boys will know they have some work to do.

I'm just completely pissed off by Ya Ya; why can't we swop him for Sneijder and our midfield woes will be sorted.

Actually when we got near their box we looked dangerous and they looked vulnerable. We just didn´t do it often enough due to some very heavy legs. Can we not get these guys fit and ready to fire on all cylinders? We were treading water the whole game

When I heard Wilkins was co-commentating, I thought I'd switch to FiveLive, then I heard Claridge and that scumbag Burley!

We score twice too easily then we all forget the game wasn't finished yet at the end of 1st half! We must give now a massive support to our captain. Vinnie is too important for our beloved squad!

Hopefully, that was just players showing rustiness and apathy in a "meaningless" showpiece game. It raises questions about how committed some players are, though, when the Rags made us look like they looked against Barcelona. If Barca are the benchmarks, and United are miles behind them, where do we fit into the equation?

Clearly, some players like Barry, Kolarov, Dzeko and Milner would NOT walk into United's team, while others, such as YaYa, only would if he didn't have frequent days off like today. Mancini's right - we need three new players. Very good, creative ones. I don't think we'll get more than one, though.

At half time I told my son who was watching with me, I wonder how long it will take Mancini in the 2nd H to take off Balo and bring on Barry. Well it didn't take long (about 15 minutes ?) even though by the time Barry was ready to come on, we were level. Mancini's negativity at its best !!
He had 6 subs to make and made only 3. Why not bring on SWP who's had a great pre-season. And why not Aguero ?

No doubt the better team (the Rags youngsters) won. They looked much fitter and sharper. Our lads look like they're about 3 weeks away from being match fit ?

Most worrying thing for me throughout pre-season is that Vinnie has looked dodgy and Dzeko just doesn't look good enough.

Aguerro was an essential signing but Mario needs to pick it up

I guess we now need to put last Sunday's imperious performance in its proper context.
We were the superior of two sides working their way up to full fitness; with us being two weeks ahead of Inter.

But Kompany aside, and I suppose that was just a 'bad day at the office' which he'll recover from, but I don't think I've ever seen Nige play as poorly under Mancini
At least in the first half.

Very unprofessional & well below par.

As I've said many times, even when they score, Dzeko & Balotelli cannot replace Tevez. They are players who work with such a player, not instead of him. If he leaves we need a replacement. We may get away with it on occasion but we will also have days like today where it falls apart. The team doesn't function properly without that type of player & we can't just rely on Aguero, he may get injured.

We need another Silva too.

I don't think Dzeko is good enough, mate, but whatever, I hope I am totally wrong. Vinnie is an awesome player, just not today. I've re-read the game thread and can't agree with players being picked out as having played well; I thought they were all less than average, some really poor.

Another thing is that Aguero goes into the season never having kicked a ball for us. My doubts about Mancini have resurfaced.

I think Yaya will be fasting for the next month which might be a reason to only play him for half a game and the chance to freshen things up today I think Bobby didn't do to well
