I Despair!!!!!!

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I Despair!!!!!!

Postby Curlie » Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:12 am

Jevus!
The season is only just taxiing to the runway and you guys are jumping all over our players and manager.
We have some idiots suggesting we will be fighting relegation this season, other posters pulling our players apart and of course there is the usual anti Mancini drivel.
Some of you need to ask yourselves, "why do I support Man City?" and maybe some of you will find you are following the wrong club.
Catch yourselves on guys.
City are coming to get you!

I totally agree. It was the first game of the season (a friendly) and they were the better side on the day so we lost. In the second half we looked tired. In hindsight we could have brought barry on at half time to consolidate the lead but we dominated the end of the first half when silva got more involved so really Mancini might have thought it better to keep things as they were.

All this talk of getting rid of Mancini, Mario etc is ridiculous and when we beat Swansea comprehensively everyone will go back to saying how great we are. Don't dwell on one performance, it's the beginning of the season we will be better come next Monday so get a grip.

Funnily enough I thought we would have learnt from last season with the "we are doomed sack everyone" reaction to every bad result or poor performance however judging by the reaction to a preseason friendly it would seem not.

We can debate the merits of tactical decisions, lineups and player performances although it usually comes down to calling someone a cunt and that someone is usually Mario and then calls to sign 'xyz' and then bemoaning the fact we didn't have or use Ade or Bellamy and wishing they were on the pitch.

No one seems to have grasped why Ade or Bellamy are not on the pitch and why Mario and Dzeko are - the first Mancini believes he can teach and is worth the effort and the second is a very good goalscorer with a first class attitude and attitude is something Mancini values.

Taggart has persevered with the likes of Nani and Anderson for several seasons in an attempt to make something of them and in Nani's case it is paying off. We on the other hand will barely give someone several months - heck in Dzeko's case it was 2 games before we are writing him off. Mind you some were writing off Silva after a month and wishing we had bought Van Der Vart so go figure.

Ah who cares. You only have to read some of the knee jerk shite from last season to know that most on here have fuck all clue about football or squad building so I don't expect this season to be any different.

I’m not overly worried and if you watch the game again you will that the intensity level wasn’t there like it would be in a competitive game. You may not like it as we were playing the rags but the game was a friendly, end of.

Players are not like fans lads and we need to accept this, they don’t feel the hatred towards the rags like we do and no doubt all the City and United players were having a big hug off in the changing rooms after. Football isnt like in the past where players hated each over on and off the pitch, they are all mates nowadays.

I don’t have any doubts that our boys wanted to win but yesterday we were not up too much, I reckon you will see a different level all together next Monday.

It's a fine line between success and failure.

If Nani had not scored and we had won on penalities there would be a completely different take and headline on yesterday.

i.e Despite playing badly Mega rich City still beat Fergie's inexperienced side instead of the United's wonder kids give City a lesson in football bullshit.

Just saying.

Ahh the thought police in full force.

We were shite. Utd were fitter, faster, better organised, more motivated & their new players 'gelled' , like ours take a year to do. It was only a friendly but we're entitled to discuss it. Not many people are daft enough demanding sackings on that game. Hardly anyone who dislikes Balotelli is basing their opinion on that performance, he's been here a whole season & is yet to play any better than the players he's replacing . If he doesn't get better soon, your beloved Bob will kick him out, he's losing patience. Then your dick sucking may choke you.

If this type of discussion is unacceptable to you, why not start an ass kissing forum rather than coming on one where people discuss football ?

but nani did score, because we fucked up and they were a million times sharper than us. so whats your point?

im more bemused that some didnt think it was an important game, against our arch rivals? and that they couldnt see how much better than us they were.

Point is that City were shit yesterday and I don't thick it was a meaningless game, but everyone is over reacting.

Last competitive game we beat Stoke in the FA Cup final everything was Rosy, now next game we lose to the Rags in the Community Shield & suddenly we are shit, the manager is fuckin useless , we need to buy half a team etc, etc.

But starting a topic moaning about people moaning? Meaningless.

Couldn't agree more. People paid decent money to go down to London and watch the team not put any effort in. They are entitled to have their say.

I was pretty shocked with yesterdays performance.Especially seeing how we played against Inter. We just looked so tired and out of sorts compared to the Manure. Hate to say this but we paid them too much respect and on a psychological level it should have been the other way round after dumping them out of the cup last season.
Yeah it wasnt a serious major trophy but theres no excuse for not having some fire in your belly in a derby game.
I dont think the defeat will affect us. We have a good platform to step onto from last seasons 3rd and FA Cup and im sure the team will progress once Aguero is playing and hopefully sign a creative MF player.

This one match has wiped out all the good feelings we had at the end of last season.
It wasn't just that we lost (and to the Rags at that), it was how we lost. 2 goals up in the 1st half and then level after 15 minutes into the 2nd and the usual last minute winner because of a stupid fuck-up by our best defender last season and our Captain no less !

Add to that the negative tactics of Mancini' taking off a striker and bringing in Barry when we needed to score. Whatever you might say about Balo, we all know he can score any minute and out of nothing. 6 subs were allowed and Mancini only used 3 and kept Shaunie on the bench !!
As Ted said, no one is talking about getting rid of Mancini but we have the right to feel bad about what happened yesterday and not hide behind the myth that it was a pre-season friendly. The other team certainly didn't see it that way!

Ha - what? Why?! Cos i'm not crying. Man the fuck up and get over it. Don't make such sweeping generalisations and accusations like that if you don't expect someone to reply in an equally hostile manner.

I give a shit, i'm just calm about it. What's the fucking point in getting all worked up? Yeah it was crap, but making knee jerk reactions and getting overly upset is pointless. This is probably the best thing that could ever happen to us - we obviously needed a reality check and now we've got it. I expect us to go at Swansea now and we won't be anywhere near as complacent as we would have been if we had won. I'd rather get the crap loss out of the way now. Yeah it hurt, but let's fucking deal with it and be positive.

Mancini is not shit, and our players aren't either - yesterday was shit, but sometimes these things happen. I'm bothered, but i've been a whole fuck load more bothered by other defeats. Some of you are acting as if this is the end of the world ffs. It isn't, is it?
