It seems ever more certain that Shaun Wright-Phillips (SWP) has played his last game for Manchester City and he may well be moving the short distance across Greater Manchester to Bolton Wanderers.

This morning Bolton manager Owen Coyle made it clear he will do all he can to convince Wright-Phillips that Bolton is a place that will benefit him in every way.
City manager Roberto Mancini admits that he likes Wright Phillips, he thinks he is a good guy and a great professional but he simply doesn't see a use for him moving the team forwards.
That is a perfectly acceptable viewpoint as far as I am concerned. For example, I love my brother but I wouldn't employ him because he doesn't have the skill set I require.
But there is a large group of City fans who want SWP to stay. They see him as one of very few links to the pre-Mansour days and they feel he loves the club and should be given a place in the squad.
I have no doubt that if Mancini saw enough in SWP to warrant his inclusion he would give him a squad number, but that plainly isn't the case.
It's now for City fans to back the manager's decision and not use SWP as a stick with which to beat Mancini every time something goes wrong.
Of course, SWP loves City and the fans in the main hold him close to their hearts too. But that is not enough to gain a place in a modern footballing squad.
I hope SWP goes on to great success wherever he plays as he really is a good guy but that doesn't mean he must be guaranteed inclusion in one of the world's best squads.
Arsenal open the door for both Fabregas and Nasri exit
The saga surrounding Cesc Fabregas’ transfer to Barcelona appeared to be approaching a resolution last night with Arsenal finally ready to let him go as well as accepting an offer for Samir Nasri from Manchester City in two deals worth around £60m in total.
Barcelona anticipate they will be able to tie up a deal for Fabregas this week that is weighted in favour of the 23-year-old's achievements. The deal under negotiation is thought to be €34m [£29.8m] paid up front and up to €6m in add-ons. Those add-ons break down as €2m for each of the first two league titles Fabregas might potentially win and another €2m for a Champions League victory.
The payments are structured over his first five years at the club and contingent on him playing a certain number of games for Barcelona. The incentive for Barcelona is that it is a way of them staggering the payments. Yet the deal still falls well short of the £40m valuation previously put on the player this summer by Wenger.
As for Nasri, it would now appear that Wenger is prepared to sell the player this summer to Manchester City for £23m. Nasri is out of contract next summer and already had a £200,000-a-week deal on the table from City. Having originally claimed that it would be impossible for Arsenal to sell both players, their clear desire to leave the club has left Wenger with little option.
It is understood that neither player will be in the squad to play Newcastle on Saturday evening. Fabregas has not played a game for Arsenal since April and has not participated at all in pre-season. Nasri played for France last night in their 1-1 draw with Chile in a friendly in Paris.
Although it has been suggested that Fabregas will take a pay cut in his £120,000-a-week wages, the reality is that the player will simply accept a lower offer from Barcelona than the improvement on his existing deal that he could have earned by signing a new contract at Arsenal.
The money will considerably strengthen Wenger's hand in the transfer market although how much he spends of it remains to be seen. The Valencia midfielder Juan Mata is a priority. The amount of money at his disposal may mean that Wenger may also set his sights on a more expensive target such as the Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Having signed only Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain so far this summer, Wenger will have to strengthen in midfield with the absence of Fabregas and Nasri. He also needs a centre-back. Agreeing a deal for Phil Jagielka with Everton has proved fruitless so far and the player has showed no major inclination to move. Wenger may now be forced to look elsewhere, such as Bolton's Gary Cahill.
Also on the move is Samuel Eto'o, who is set to go to the newly wealthy Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, according to the Internazionale chief executive Ernesto Paolillo. With Eto'o bringing in a large fee, the Italian said Wesley Sneijder would stay at Inter, and denied any interest in Manchester City's Carlos Tevez.
Eto'o had been the subject of a possible exchange deal with Tevez, but it now appears he will be going to the Dagestan-based side. "Eto'o is leaving," Paolillo said yesterday, "he is going to the Russian club" – though the player's agent said only that "we have practically agreed things with Anzhi".
The offer to the 2010 European champions from a team who were only promoted to the Russian Premier League in 2009 was described as "intelligent" by Inter president Massimo Moratti yesterday.
CARLOS TEVEZ POISED TO JOIN INTER MILAN
CARLOS Tevez will join Inter Milan this week, if Manchester City agree to let him go out on loan.
Italian giants Inter Milan, who are losing Samuel Eto'o to Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, are desperate to land Carlos Tevez and have tabled an offer to Manchester City.
City boss Roberto Mancini is unwilling to let Tevez leave for less that £50m, however, he might
Mancini said: "I don't know. A lot can happen in one month but if he stays I am happy."
Tevez arrived back at Manchester City's training ground on Monday morning with his future still uncertain.
The Argentina striker arrived at the Carrington training ground as a passenger in a black Hummer, and exchanged an embrace with a security guard before going into the complex.
Tevez has made no secret of the fact that he wants a move. Brazilian side Corinthians failed in a bid last month and Inter Milan looks to be the most likely destination for the player.
In June, Tevez told a chat show on Argentinian television that he would not return to Manchester ever - "not even for a vacation" - and complained about the weather.
The skies were suitably grey on Monday and there was a chill in the air to welcome him back.
Tevez told the Argentinian television channel Telefe: "There's nothing to do in Manchester. There's two restaurants and everything's small. It rains all the time. You can't go anywhere.
"There comes a moment where you say 'Where am I going to go with my family?' and you begin to feel bad.
"Of course, one trains, plays, does things, and when the family or friends come one feels bad and you can't take them to the movies because they don't understand anything.
"I will not return to Manchester, not for a vacation, not anything."
Patrick Vieira: Mario Balotelli will come good for Manchester City
Manchester City coach Patrick Vieira has pleaded for fans to have patience with mercurial Blues stiker Mario Balotelli.
The 20-year-old Italian has rarely been out of the headlines since his move from Inter Milan last season - but not always for the right reasons.
The talented forward was in trouble in pre-season after a flippant back-heeled finish against LA Galaxy saw him subbed off by angry boss Roberto Mancini.
Vieira, who will be in the dugout this season following a long and distinguished playing career, said: "People forget how young he really is.
"I hope this year he will learn from his mistakes. He is a really talented footballer and I hope he can show everybody how good he is.
"I believe we improved last season, winning the FA Cup and finishing third, and I believe we can challenge Chelsea, United and the rest of the teams."
