This so called obsession with Serie is a complete myth. He's signed more players from La Liga and as many from the Bundesliga as he has from Serie A. I do agree that our track record isn't good.
I didn't say him signing them from there....I said obsessing, looking at lads like this Cerci who frankly looks bobbins, and having his two sons here who didn't make the grade in Serie A or B, and this lad Scapuzzi and the shite he came out with about the players at Napoli.
I didn't mean he had a bad track record in his signings from Serie A (although the jury is certainly still out on both Mario and Kolarov and Vieira was a strange but useful signing) I meant City in general and more importantly the ability of players coming out of that league to excel in the PL, which is patchy
EDIT ^^^ what Peter Parker said!

Hear what your saying but you could say the same about the young lads Denis Suarez and Joan Roman from La Liga. Add those to Yaya, Dave Silva and Aguero , does this amount to an obsession with La Liga??
There are far more important things to be debating so I don't want to get too deep in to this but I've heard a few people voice concerns over Mancini's 'obsession' with Serie A and, as I say, it's a complete myth.
This isn't directed at you Ant, your comments weren't overly critical, but some on this same topic have been. I can't understand why anyone would want to be critical of Bobby, given what he has achieved, over something as tenuous as this.

I don't think Lombardo helps things when he has interviews about players we are interested in and JUST mentions Serie A players.

Tomorrow's Press Conference will announce the transfer of Fabregas to Barcelona and quite possibly the Nasri deal as well. If they don't rule out the deal tomorrow it will certainly happen and quickly. In my view they might as well bite the bullet and get the bad news out of the way then spend the rest of the transfer window trying to appease the fans by announcing new signings. Still Wilshere can't run midfield on his own; they will need a quality midfielder, not just a couple of defenders.
One other bit of nonsense; how can Cercio be a substitute for Nasri as per this morning's current bun? Mancini said he wanted both a midfielder and a winger. With SWP on his way to Bolton then surely two more players are headed to Eastlands. If Tevez leaves on loan to Inter it could yet be three.

Up to you but I don't let a few press sound bites from Lombardo, that's all it was, cloud my opinion of Mancini.
Going Off Topic now but your comments sort of back up my point. Shame that some people are so quick to have a dig at our FA Cup winning Manager over such tenuous issues.
