Otelul will be a nasty draw, a romanian Stoke. Hope we won't get them.

A Romanian Stoke is a bit too much, as Otelul don't play the lon balls, and don't have all the players over 6 feet. Also, there's no Delap in the team. I'd love to draw them as they will play their CL games in Bucharest, so it'll mean another chance for me to see City live, after last year's game against Timisoara.

i appreciate the bravado of "gimme group of death" from posters on here, but i'd love to see us make heavy inroads into the competition and not "proudly" just miss out cuz we were in the group of death.

Might work for nightclubs, casinos and aquariums, but...this is football.

Its isn't bravado you dipstick merchant, it is more calculated. In the group stage there is less pressure to win, so there is a higher capacity for City to learn more from games v Barca or the like because it is not win or go out. Also if we get them in the group then we wouldn't meet them in the knockouts until much later.
It goes to the heart of what you want/expect from City in their CL debut. I want them to learn as much as possible playing their own way as much as possible. I would like them to do well but I'm not that bothered about the CL compared to the Title. If our Title chances suffer cos we are goo goo over the CL i will be seriously pissed off and would rate the City hierarchy as about as intelligent as that of Spurs.

sure does. i want to win and progress as far as we can, and you want to use it as a "learning experience" and focus on the league.

i'm not sure why we cannot do both, but just to be clear there is no team in the comp i "fear"...i just don't want our path to be harder in the group stages when we'll likely have some banana skins in the group without needing a Barca or Madrid. Comprende?

Whatever the teams we will face are, I just hope we don't finish third and end up in the Europa league again - too much of a distraction from our league campaign for a pitiful reward.

any team that has come through the qualfying rounds should be in pot 4. pot 1 teams should be the champions from the 8 strongest domestic leagues - in reality only united, barca and porto are league champions...

the most ridiculous thing is that dortmund are in pot 4...

I think we will be in the E-H part of the table, because Scum was in the A-D, and UEFA doesn't allow that teams from the same city to play on the same part of the table.
But i'm not sure.
