Adebayor gone to Spurs on Loan!

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I think we were ahead of them the season before last, but they had the advantage of being an established and settled team whereas we were still raw and rough around the edges. We have strengthened while they are in danger of going backwards next season if/when VdV gets itchy feet (assuming they don't land a top four spot) and Modric gets the move he seems to be pining for.

i hope so...i hope he bangs them in against all the top sides and loafs around with his dick in his hand against the Wigans, Blackburns and Swanseas of the world. i really feel like using him as a weapon against the top sides by loaning him isn't the worst thing ever. We know he doesn't get up for every match where he cannot get service, so i think the risk is lower than the potential reward if he scores some against the top clubs which he'll be motivated to do then we'll benefit from those sides dropping points, and he cannot play City.

Dumbest piece of transfer business in a long time. Why didn't we loan him out to Real Madrid or give him to them for free, anything would have been preferable over giving him to fucking Spurs.

Perhaps they didn't want him? In fact, I'm sure if they did then he'd already be there.

I doubt the club are thrilled that they've had to let him go to a prem club but Ade held all the cards here. If the only alternative was keeping him here and paying all is wages, and that may have been the case, then this is a better option.

WTF, SSN just said Ade will be making his debut against us on Sunday. I thought he couldn't play against us since he's on loan?

He'll need to hit the ground running at spurs. If he starts slow then he'll be targeted by the spurs fans, especially with him being ex-arsenal

^ this.

I am not fussed he's gone to Spurs. He will start off like a house on fire and probably play like a world beater against Arsenal and us and then fade away as he always does.

I have a funny feeling Spurs will struggle this season. Harry's off at the end of the season and he already has an unhappy camp. Signing old players like Friedel on long term deals and getting people on loan are all the hallmarks of Harry Redknapp preparing for an exit.

I cannot believe the club has broken the golden rule in the transfer window, 'do not make your opposition stronger'. Yes we have improved ourselves but not as much as people think, Barry has lost his pace, jury is still out on Clichy, can Mario get well into double figures (I think so, but only if he keeps his head), how much of prick is Tevez going to be?

I am feeling good about our prospects this season but after two games of the season it is going to be tougher than people think, yet again we struggled away at Bolton. Does this mean Fulham, Wolves, Blackburn, Stoke are going to be easy 6 pointers just because of Nasri and Aguero?

My main gripe is the fact that over the course of the season Ade can get into double figures if given the playing time (even with time spent on his arse). This gives Spuds a better chance of picking up points and challenging us, so how does this transfer aid our league campaign? Bellamy can do the same if he ends up in the Prem. Obviously they can't take points directly off of us but they can win points for our main rivals, so why has the club helped our opposition?

Boyata to NotloB on the other hand is the opposite of these moves. Dedryck can prevent NotloB from losing games especially against our main rivals helping us to extend a lead at the top of the table whilst gaining experience, fingers crossed, like Joe did at Brum!

I think now it comes into the phase of specific strengthening instead of the scattergun approach we have employed before now. Tevez was leaving for anywhere but here and he needed to be replaced, Aguero. Johnson has proved inconsistent against top opposition, Nasri. Kolarov was as useless as a storefront mannequin with the word defender written on it, Clichy.

If Barry is waning...and what pace exactly did he had to lose? Then we have Milner and Zabs who can step into the breach. If Dzeko stumbles, we have a plethora of strikers who can step in, Kolo will be back in September to give us 4 centrehalves. I would say the big issue now is to get them into a proper team, we are seeing signs but nothing beats familiarity with your teammates(shawzy knows) and that will come with time, City grow stronger without additions by the day and I don't think Adebayor in the mix will help at all in this regard.

If that was us struggling against Bolton then I'm looking forward to seeing us 'struggle' against a few other teams this season.

We played a nice game which I want to see more of but they could have easily nicked an equaliser in the second half and possible a winner, that's was my point. It wasn't comfortable.

Like the home game last year it could have been two points dropped when the game should have been put to bed much earlier.

I think we've all got concerns over these deals but the truth is we do not want them and if we can't sell then we've got to look at other means to bring some money in, instead of us paying them. And I don't believe all the bull about his 175 grand wage, that's just made up Bollox. Beller's was reported as coming to us on around 60k a week so his wage is never really discussed as it doesn't fit in with the agenda whereas Ade's reported wage goes up everytime I read it.

As for your question, you sort of answer it yourself with the Boyata bit. Ade at Spurs, who are a very good team in my opinion and will be challenging, will give them a greater chance of taking points from the other challengers, which they reguarly do anyway, and with him unable to play against us makes it a bit of a bonus as it will no doubt disrupt them if he becomes a regular.

That's just bollocks. They created two chances and scored from both. I'm one of the more nervous people when watching football but I wasn't worried in the end at all.

Tottenham aren't our competitors for where we are aiming this season. If we are fighting with Tottenham for positions in business end of the season, Mancini will most likely be gone. But I doubt that will be the case.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Enjoy your new club Ade. And if you can take some points of the rags and Chelsea that would be tops. Thanks.
