I reckon it's a great draw. We've definitely got the most interesting group where any of the four can qualify.

Brilliant.

Have to feel we are going to be part of the group to watch for entertainment value.
I'm expecting to see the goals flow big time as all clubs have some very talented strikers.
Villareal have Nilmar and Giuseppe Rossi
Bayern have Gomez,Olic and Muller
Napoli have Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani
Not a patch on our lads all the same.

You've downplayed Bayern a little there mate...Schweinsteiger, Robben, Ribery? Their three best players!

Strikers mate.

Robben and Ribery play either side of a 3 man front line. Same as Lavezzi :)

Barca vs Villarreal on sky 3 right now. Good chance to see how tough Villarreal will be - even though I expect them to eventually hand the game over to barca, much how it works with the rags

curious to see that Barca's make shift back line of Keita, Mascherano, Fabregas, and Abidal....quite possibly the
only way to give Cesc ample playing time; he already scored today too.

watching the replays of the 1st half, Villarreal are horrible at defending. Maybe its just the genius of Barca, but they don't seem to be putting any pressure on the ball or following any runners. If they play like this we'll crush 'um

What's more is that Barca is actually playing a 3-3-1-3....and Villareal havent put any pressure on that makeshift line

Horrible at defending? I think youll find its because Barca are fucking brilliant at going forward..they would make any defense look shit.

On another note...yellow cards for taking the top off when you celebrate is complete bolloks.

Barca may be good, but the 3rd goal was fucking ridiculously easy. Sanchez made the most obvious run straight down the middle of the field, and no defender even attempted to follow. The closest defender was 30 yards away and their line was about 15 yards from the ball. Way too high up the pitch against faster players, without any communication or proper spacing. There wasn't any passing or movement from Barca to throw Villarreal off, and Sanchez actually made the same run 20 seconds earlier.

The whole thing was piss poor, schoolboy error from Villarreal. And its been the same story all game.

i dunno who looks worse...Villareal vs. Barca or Arsenal vs. United.
They were both awful in their current week's fixtures. Granted, Barcelona are the best club team in the world but still.
As mentioned, some of Barca's goals today were waaayy to easy and Villareal hasnt done anything all game.

I take it then you didn't even watch the game. I'm not calling Barca anything less than fantastic, but rather saying that there was no resistance from Villarreal at all. It seems that you can't write an actual response or make a point because you're too busy choking down some Catalonian knob.

Just because Barca are great/fantastic/incredible/best ever doesn't mean that every team should melt before them. And if you'd have actually watched that game it be pretty obvious just how bad Villarreal were

Here we go TONTO.

You said "Barca may be good" and then said "I'm not calling Barca anything less than fantastic" which is actually better than good you FUCKTARD.
I did watch the whole game and I do watch Spanish Highlights every week.....Villareal were not allowed to play any kind of game which is what Barcelona tendo to do to most if not all teams they play against and if you actually WATCH Barcelona on a regular basis you will see just how much they fuck other teams into making mistakes and/ or they get passed to death........

maybe...if...I...write...like...this....you...might...understand...better

You're grasp of the English language MAY BE GOOD, but you have serious issues in interpreting people too literally while missing the larger point. I thought it was generally understood that Barca are great, so the issue at hand is the lack of quality from Villarreal. After a post of drivel and a few sentences of redundant personal attacks, you finally make your first coherent point of our whole discussion.

And I agree that Barca forces teams into mistakes, but still say that Villarreal played too high a line without putting any pressure on the ball. If you're going to play a high line you need to pressure the other team. If not, they have all the time in the world to pick you apart. Villarreal wouldn't pick up runners, wouldn't pressure the ball, and showed as much opposition to Barca as our EDS team would.

however, this was different. they were like a siv today. it was brutal.

Wow, you're about as easy to upset as a 5 yr old. Anyways heres the goals:

I'm trying to figure out if I'm in bizarro world where this can be considered good defending, or back in reality where this type of defending is a disgrace. Am I the only one who sees Villarreal playing a crap offsides trap w/o pressuring the ball?

To be honest and without wishing to appear arrogant, the media make far too much of foreign clubs with glamorous names. Napoli looked rubbish against Liverpool a little while ago, and Villareal are absolutely nothing to write home about. If things go to form and ability - they dont always - we should hammer both of these home and away.
