Wenger - gotta be all over

Wenger - gotta be all over

Postby moomey » Sun Aug 28, 2011 8:23 pm

Quote from end of BBC report I think says it all,

"Wenger cut a despairing figure as he walked back to the dressing room at the final whistle after one of the darkest days of his career."

Nah. He'll be given a couple of months I think, at least.

I think he'll get sacked this season.....and I never ever thought I'd say that.

Clean break and an end to his influence is what will happen. May be a good or a bad thing but I am increasingly convinced he will go this season and there will be nothing "mutual" about it

I really think we need to realise how humiliating today has been for Arsenal. I think he may fall on his sword this week.

Sack him and bring who? At this moment there isn't any world class manager available beside Ancelotti (who is on a one year break) and Martin O"Neill. I think the next three days will be crucial for Arsene.
If they don't bring two-three good names, then the board wants him out.

Look Mr S Man....I didn't say I thought he should be sacked, nor that sacking him would be wise, nor that if they sacked him there was some kind of "Grand Plan".....but I think they will sack him.

Lots of boardroom struggles behind the season I am pretty certain, no clear direction from the club.....he'll go.

If I'm wrong feel free to drag this up and beat me with it

No mate, i understand that. Like you i think it will be a HUGE mistake to sack him, bu I was just making a point.
Imho, after all he did for them, i think he may be allowed to have a shitty season. Sir Bacon had 3 or 4 if i recall when he first came. It really looks like a start of a cold war inside their club.

Wenger might walk but they'd be fucking stupid to push him - or allow him to walk for that matter.

He has single-handedly kept them in the CL for 14 years while they've been sorting out their stadium and allowing him little room for manoeuvre in the transfer market and he's proved himself a master at it. Arsenal fans should also wobble their heads if they think someone else will come in and give them the kind of entertainment he has produced.

Five years without a trophy? big deal.

I don't think for one second that the club has restricted him, I think it is all down to his stubbornness.

I think he'll go. THey are in a mess. He has unravelled. I read through an Arsenal fans forum yesterday and it was suggested that Wenger might be mentally ill. OK, that's pushing it, but there appears to be a large body of fans wanting him gone. That's often the start of the sacking. And 8-2...

And yes, it was grand schadenfreude to lurk on their forum. But, I think we habve earned the right to ghoul at others disasters. Lol.

i still think his football is a quality of a top manager - his transfer policy lets arsenal down big time - a derisory offer for cahill a week before the transfer window shuts in lunacy. Bolton probably won't sell out of spite now

I think he has had plenty of time.
A club like Arse would have no problems replacing him.
The board should get rid.

Through all the hard years, setbacks and disappointments I wanted to be able to savour success. When I see a disaster, I'm happy that it's not us, but not glad that someone else is suffering.

That match was a bad one for us. The scum having a flying start has stolen our thunder so we're reduced to a byline. Not ideal when we're trying to use our success to expand our worldwide support base.

Agree with that.....some of those times in the past were bloody horrible. I honestly wouldn't wish that one anyone....apart from Trafford Rangers and Spurs. I would revel in seeing either of those clubs and their hateful fans suffer

I outed Wenger & his cheese eating surrender monkeys last season. I predicted last week that Utd would put 6 past them; ok I was wrong.

As I've said before; imo George Graham & Don Howe built the Arsenal defensive philosophy & those defenders managed to pass on the methods to some of Wenger's signings. As the last of GG's players retired, so the influence began to wane year by year & now we're left with 100% Wenger's creation. I don't believe he can create a defence.

He created the best attacking team in the history of the Premier League & probably the history of British football but the defensive character was built before he got there. That could possibly be solved by bringing in a defensive coach. What's worse than that though imo, is the way he's dealt with the club being asset stripped & gone along with it. Either he's so egotistical that he thinks he can turn any kids into champions or he's in league with the Arsenal board or he's gone mental.

Either way, he has lied in public about Arsenal's transfer poilicy & their recent dealings & let down their supporters by standing & watching his team fall apart whilst doing fuck all to stop it. For that, they should kick him out.
