If we play him what will it do for the morale of the squad? I'm sorry but his days as a number 1 starter should be over. If he stays and we pick up injuries, and he ends up having to play, and shows 100% passion for Manchester City, then I might change my mind.

But right now, if his little plan back fires and he ends up staying, he should not be centre of attention.

Mancini will go down in my estimation if he pretends nothing has happened. It would take some fucking serious Tevez grovelling to claw back any respect from me.

You dont go back and feed the dog that bit your hand.

We are Manchester City, we are NOT Carlos Tevez.

Take the captain armband off, make him loes those captains perks he gets, make him train etc like we do for all other players. Come Saturday pick him if he's trained hard all week etc then it should not affect the other players morale at all if he deserves a starting place. Fine him if he stroops at getting substituted etc etc. Any other player affected by the manager picking a better hard working player should be fucled off as well. Letr him do his 100% stuff on the pitch and the club reaps the rewards plus a much better chance of selling for the price WE want come the January sales.

Agree completely. End of the day, Tevez has been a fantastic player for us and even if he does stay this season or until January, we know he'll continue to give the same effort because he did so after December debacle last season and the character of the guy dictates he will.

Definitely agree though that Kompany or De Jong should now be Captain. I would opt for Kompany with De Jong as Vice-Captain.

Managers and players who have been in the industry all their lives day in day out I doubt have any of the emotional responses of fans. Tevez playing or not won't effect morale. Treat him like the rest, play him when it suits but have the main effort focused on the partnerships of the other players. If that requires using Tevez more as an impact sub, then so be it.

The main focus has to be on the future partnerships of the front players. As i have said many times Tevez imo slowed down that process last season by dominating play in a way that made it more difficult for others to gain a cohesion.

As soon as someone comes close to the asking price though just get rid.

Don't want him and his negative shit around young meister Agüero for too long.

Imagine a commited tevez who wanted to play for us upfront with aguero though.

Excellent post Ashton.

From now on we do what's best for City and not what suits Carlos Tevez, with no more contorting ourselves to placate him or keep him happy.

No.

City and Tevez has come to its natural end. Its been mutually beneficial and no one can say it hasn't worked with a CL spot and an FA Cup in the bag but going forward it has to be sans Tevez.

Tevez moaned his way out of Boca, moaned his way out of Corinthians, moaned his way around the Premier League and its time he moaned somewhere else.

If there is one thing we should learn from taggart is that there is a right time to let a player go. That time is now for Tevez at City.

The best striker in world football over the last 2 years. Also one is gives everything on the pitch regardless of situation off it. Its fucking simple.

It's all well and good saying now is the time to let him go etc etc... eh... no, not until we have a buyer who will pay market value. Taggart may have shipped out players when they became unhappy, but there's no fucking way they were given away on the cheap because he didn't want "disharmony".

Fuck that, he is AT LEAST a £50m player and TBH I'd rate him at £60m - he's just about to go into his peak years - so if no one wants him, then he stays and he plays. And if he sulks (which I seriously doubt) and strikes or whatever, he's in breach of contract.

Very very simple stuff.

Thought about option 4 but didn't know what it meant so plumped for play him in your best team. Until his determination and desire dwindle then he is still the best striker in the Prem. Also it will have a negative impact on his own personal negotiation stance if he's seen to be half arsed in matches. He already has baggage as everyone knows he doesn't need any more suitcases

Have to play him. He always tries and it'd make no sense from his personal perspective to have a mixed few months....if he plays naff then drop him - simples.

Can't really form an opinion on this until after the first 5-6 games of the season.

On the one hand, playing without him allows our team to find its own strengths. Our over-reliance on him has, in my opinion, stifled our potential to apply alternative formations throughout last season, and, although everything turned out well in the end, we can't rely on a Tevez-oriented system for the first half of the season/Champs' League Group Stages, and then try to adapt in January.

On the other, he is one hell of a player, and a great financial asset, which will rapidly depreciate without game time. If he's dropped to the bench or from the squad, I doubt we'll get more than €30m for him in January, and even less in the summer. That's a source of income that we can't deny ourselves with this FFP.

Overall, I'd say play him if his heart is in it, and he's on form. If not, we can allow our team to shape itself untethered, but must prepare for the financial loss this will effect.

100% strip him of the captaincy- I don't think he's worthy of it anyway. Kompany for me, as it has been since we signed him. If Zabba looks to be heading out of the door (which I doubt, by the way, before anyone jumps down my throat), give it to him for the first few games as a token of respect/appreciation.

Think and hope that others will take him near the end of the window.
He would slot right into most line-ups given his selfish style of play (not necessarily a criticism) and teams such as Real, Inter are well versed in the brinkmanship of the transfer window so will be hoping that we panic into selling him at a decent discount as we will not want to keep a disaffected player around.
If however a newly rich team such as Malaga or (maybe) Juve come in for him we may hear something sooner rather than later.

The worry I have is that he will not give his all anymore now. he went on strike before (funnyly enough at Corinthians).

Although there's probably a difference between getting 10/20k a week at Corinthians and getting 200k+ a week at City. I still believe if he can't get a deal elsewhere he'll play as normal for us, and in that case he starts for us every week!

Yes, one of the first names on the team sheet. However I wouldnt expect the club to be bending over backwards for him anymore and he wont be captain. It would be completely mad to put him in the reserves because he is a valued asset and ignoring him would only delay his departure and upset our club.

edit: I couldnt resist adding.. I really want him gone from the club now though, its a shame but he'll never settle and theres uncertainty e very transfer window. I'd love to see Silva Aguero Dzeko and Balotelli become a force and grow together.

He is a very good club asset - of course we should play him

Also he will want to perform to keep the interest of clubs in him - and also I think that he knows no other way to play

Just treat him like any other team member

We will be a better team without him, but we've had better results with him, so far. When he's had an off day, we've had no idea how to play. Without him there, others will learn to take responsibility. Remember the rags with horseface? When he played, everything had to go to him. Without him, goals were shared and they became a better team with more points of attack.

Feel sorry for the cnut having an advisor like that manipulating him to the enth degree. Khaldoon wouln´t sanction the ostricising to the EDS of our prize asset. I suppose we´d soldier on with him in the squad and available for selection. Not the end of the world is it as long as Kun is there to keep him company

What do people think will happen with Tevez assuming he stays? He's still a world class player who could prove vital to us so it would be silly to emit him from the squad. How much playing time he'll get is interesting.
