As I am sure has been said elsewhere in this thread - I havent read it all so forgive me - Cook has enemies in the press and with a particular "Agent" who has decided to go after him, for not facilitating Onouha's loan to Eveton.

Thing is this Agent, we all know who, now has made even more powerful enemies at City. The whole thing places long term inplications for Onouha, Tevez but sadly and more importantly on De Jong. His choice of linking up with this weasel means that unless he severs ties, sadly De Jong will have no long term future at City.

I cannot believe the number who believe Cook is guilty without even having the full facts. We have something that happened nearly a year ago thrown into the media spotlight & a staggering number assume he is guilty.

Why did it take so long to surface, don't suppose it's anything to do with Kia whatever he's called who has recently been a Nedum advisor. If Nedum's mother felt so aggrieved with things, why not go to the press at the time of the alleged incident. This is too coincidental for my liking and why couldn't someone have hacked into his account, don't forget Mark Hughes was represented by Kia and would have had plenty of contact still working for City. Also, Kia has just lost another skirmish with Cook/Marwood with Tevez having to remain with us.

Whilst I am not a massive Cook fan, I don't think he is anybody's fool and he would have to be to have done this. It stinks worse than rotting fish.

Possible but not likely given the context provided, as someone else pointed out the fact that it references an earlier email from Neddy's mum make it seem that whoever sent it had at the very least read said email.

The most damning part for me is that considering the amount of time that has elapsed the IT department will have been able to provide 100% proof of where the email was sent from by now, if the incident was investigated in the correct manner for an accusation of this scale. Were that to be the case I would have expected a considerably less wishy washy statement from the club and that if Cook's version of events is indeed true that the individual would have long since been sacked.

What are some of our fans like. The club is on the cusp of greatness and people hate the people in charge but they dont know why. Go and have a head wobble and when you can think of a reason as to what they are doing is hurting our club then maybe you have cause to hate but whilst the playing staff have improved the facilities have improved and the commercial deals have improved please give them some credit!!!!!

I'd agree with this. It's hardly the worst or most upsetting comment in the world.
Cancer is such an emotional thing, it seems you can't mention the word without somebody getting all uptight about it.

The people involved, the timing of it, the blowing out of proportion of the issue, all make this a fishy story.
I don't want to lose somebody who has done a good job commercially for the club for the sake of a few bleeding hearts.

Oh and Cook has been right in many ways. When he bigged up our future, he was justified. When he said Milan bottled it, he was close to the truth then too.

Having said that, if it's a cover up, then he hasn't covered himself in glory, but it looks like a non story to me.

The fact that there is an obvious agenda behind the release of this story to the press in no way lessens the fact that it is unacceptable behaviour to send that sort of email, if someone "hacked" Cook's account they should have been out the door at the time for gross misconduct, if it was Cook then he should have resigned on the spot. Ultimately the buck stops with Cook as the COO in any case and he should have handled all this before it got to the point that it could be used as ammunition against City.

To say yesterday that they are going to hold a board led investigation isn't really good enough at this stage, the investigation should be done and dusted, which it may well be as far as we know, and a clear statement made to that effect.

Cook has done a hell of a lot of good work and by all accounts revolutionised things behind the scenes whilst also having a hand in a lot of the great stuff that's been going on in public since the Sheikh took over but no man is bigger than the club and this is harming the club's reputation

It's actually really sad how much he hates our club and, especially, Cook.
