Been a long time....but I thought this the best thread to make a re-introduction.
I honestly think you guys stand a better chance than Man Utd to win the league. Why? Simple reason, depth of squad. A patient owner in Mubarak/Sheikh Mansour. A real feel-good factor amongst the group of players you have at the Etihad this season.
What will be important is how you guys deal with defeat this season. Regardless of how much has been spent, you can't expect to go unbeaten in ALL the cups AND the league this season. It's seemingly impossible. This is the reason I hate the cuh-hunts from Salford even more- they seem to bounce back after defeat with aplomb.
I do think that, as far as ManUre go, there is a fear factor ahead of the game when teams go against them (and I include Arsenal in that estimation, although I think that was more-so down to a blinkered, stubborn, "we'll do it our way" approach by Wenger as opposed to seeking out the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents ahead of the game). As long as teams go up against them with a very positive approach, they'll do well to cause an upset against the Rags.
Good times at Eastlands, though. It's been a long time coming. :)

Anyone else noticed the constant scoreline comparisons coming from those cunts down the road?
I'd like to think we wouldnt do the same. Its a sorry state of affairs when their tiny peanut brains think its a- clever and b- feesable to compare the two sides through results of two completely different games.
They're shook, and im loving it.
CTID :)

When was the last time City won their opening four games in the top flight (and incidentally when was the last time scum did it?)
Many thanks

I dont think it looks good, i think it looks crap tbh. Today though i think they had had enough mentally.. first half was mental and they did enough to win about 3 games. Bear in mind also just coming back from internationals always has a bit of an effect. early days yet.
cant complain too much with 30 attempts on goal, clean sheet and virtually every player in the team getting in on the act. Poor Joe eh he must've felt a bit lonely back there.

Cheers Wrighty and always nice to get an "outsiders" view on all things Blue!
Question for you, do you think Wenger will be able to gel the new recruits quickly enough to give you a chance of getting something from the season? We've had our fun of gelling threads along the lines of "will we?, won't we?" I think Mertsacker was a great buy whereas the rest had an air of desperation....what's your thoughts?

We did it the season before last under Hughes.
Can't be arsed finding out when the rags did it, guessing it wasn't long ago though.

However when asked why City were now attacking whereas last season they were 'defensive' the pundits didn't have a clue. It really showed a lot of their thinking and that they evidently don't watch the full games or follow progress of teams. They were totally clueless or pretending to be, and couldn't put two and two together that last season was about building the solidity and the system.. that Mancini can now attach the add-ons and goodies to.
Later in the season they will clock this and the penny will drop that there was a masterplan. It will eventually come along after that (maybe next season) that one of the knobs will ask if Mancini should be asked to manage England at some point.
You heard it here first.
Anything we can do "they" can do better...........!
